    It would be for a few reasons… We would still have the exact same issue next year when he goes back to city, assuming he takes Trusty or Scales out the team we’ve then got two assets that are worth even less money than they are now if we wanted to punt. Lastly, in some parallel universe that he was actually as good as VVD this season then City could just recall him …


    If you’re happy with Trusty and Scales being the ceiling of what we can recruit as a permanent player for Celtic at CB then you must be quite an easy man to please.

    Decent cover for CCV although I do feel a little bit sorry for Dane Murray. Hopefully he can get a decent loan move then try again next season.
    Or do people think he will start with CCV soon?
    I get a horrible feeling that CCV will miss large chunks of the season so this lad will need to step up big time!

    If we paid money for him and he’s the next VVD, we’d still have the same issue next season regardless.

    Not liking loans is a mentality thing, yes it comes with its issues but if it increases the quality in a certain position from what it was then all good.

    We might aye, but we would also then be looking at a club record transfer for parting ways with him as he is actually our player.

    I appreciate you’re coming from a pragmatic view with what we’re actually working with from a board level, even if we had the player and sold him for the money I wouldn’t be confident in us actually signing a replacement.
