Scales more than justified his inclusion today. Never lost a header or tackle. Shows us what BR thinks of trusty when he thinks there's going to be a battle.

Personally thought we doninated the game. Played decent enough. Frustrating with lack of goals. Although we probably should walked away with 3-0 win. Hopefully this is the shot in the arm to the Celtic Board.

Concerning performance for many reasons. The lack of quality in and around the box is really poor. Not just from our front players but pretty much anyone who found themselves in the box with a chance or half chance.

Our patterns are predictable. St Mirren worked really hard and defended very well - but they know our system well which accounts for a lot of it. No surprise we have struggled against them last few games

Tierney only able to do an hour and theres basically no other LB. Inamura not deemed good enough for bench so Scales has to fill in there.

Yang and Idah picking up from last season looking very unconvincing.

I guess if looking for positives its that it might prompt some urgency in the transfer market.

Another day it could of been 5 which only highlights the lack of natural finishers in the forward areas.

Got train from Dalmarnock to Central after the game. Fergus McCann and his missus got on at Bridgeton. A man who looks after his money :56:.

Not at our best but on another day one or two of those times we hit the woodwork go in and no one’s panicking.

I’ll take that though for the first game of the season. 3 pts and already ahead of the Zombies.

Engels, Forrest and Kenny or Shin in for Aberdeen away though. Or Nygren out wide.

It's only supposed to be if the player benefits from the handball. I.e. if it helps them control the ball

The ball literally scuffed McGregor's elbow as it bounced off his back, it had no bearing on the goal at all.

We'll 100% see a similar goal given against us this season and the pundits will be queueing up to say "well he didn't benefit from it". Probably next week in fact

It was the last touch before his shot. As much as it's a * rule, it was the correct call. The ball doesn't land where it landed without bouncing off his elbow.

I think he was right to disallow. It's Gogic's handball that * me off, he sticks his arms out. I know he blocks their own clearance but I'm certain that's given in another match.

Defence and midfield looked ok I thought. In the final third however, we were shocking. Idah and Yang offered zilch and Maeda struggled to beat his man. It was the perfect result though. It showed that we are absolutely desperate for wingers and a striker, but we still managed to get the 3 points.

At the game I thought we huffed and puffed a bit.
Watched the highlights on the way home and of what I saw seemed to be decent and unlucky not to be up 3/5 goals.

Definitely need 2 wingers or a winger and a striker, i'd prefer 2 wingers.

I dont mind Maeda on the wing in big games and even tougher away games in the League but at home to St Mirren you need more creativity out wide and goal threat and someone with final ball.

Cant lie i didn't enjoy that. The atmosphere was good but the performance was poor, 3 points is all the matters but the warning signs are there.

Idah and Yang just aren't good enough.

Also, it really is time to get Ian Crocker in the bin.

Last minute goal to win on flag day and he genuinely sounded * gutted. I’m no saying he’s a hun, but at the very best he’s just really poor. Brings nothing to big moments in games.

Also…..should hear how excited he sounded when he heard our goal would be disallowed

It would have been a travesty of footballing justice if we had dropped points today. A disallowed goal, two shots that hit the woodwork, and generally a procession towards a well drilled and marshalled St.Mirren defence and system. St. Mirren always give us a very hard game, and they are a big physical outfit, so it was good to get this difficult game out of the way with all three points and a clean sheet. Still wish that Rodgers would change to a 4-2-3-1 system, because I think it would suit us better, as the 4-3-3 is played out, and has been well sussed out by our opponents.
