I don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad as people make out.

There’s a confidence problem for sure and he’s randomly flat-footed at times, which is annoying, but he was also very unlucky not to score a couple today.

I want another starting striker too but we also need to chill out a bit on Idah.

 

He is not really good enough is he.

 

Was that 4 chanced he * up the day.
Nowhere near clinical enough and has a woeful first touch, not good enough for us.

Whilst the Republic of Ireland international continues to divide opinion and get stick from his supporters, the man in charge is liking what he is seeing.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Celtic’s opening day win, Rodgers labelled Idah’s performance as ‘excellent’ when analysing the game.


“I thought we played ever so well,” said Rodgers. “The goalkeeper has made so many great saves. But the guys kept pushing.

“Some of our football was outstanding to create those moments against a team that everyone knows is so well drilled and so well organised, but I have to congratulate my players because of the persistence that they showed throughout the game. Keep driving forward.

“The impact of the guys coming into the game was excellent. It was a really, really important win, but I think we played ever so well. It’s the story of this club. We keep going right till the very end.



The guys who started. I thought Adam (Idah) was excellent. The two eights (Hatate and Nygren) very, very good.

 

A big dumplin

 

As Sutton said on commentary, he should have headered it first time across goal and keeper would have have no chance. His touch while decent closed the angle and left him with a harder finish.

 

Thought he was actually decent enough in the first half.

2nd half, less so.

 

Thought he was really unconvincing today.

Caught offside a fair bit. Always seemed to be a yard ahead or a yard behind where he needed to be. and when he did get a half chance or chance failed to make the most of it.

He just seems to be constantly operating on a different wavelength to the team.

 

Maybe just saying that to keep his confidence up because he wasn't excellent.

 

Hes an impact player for us at best. His all round game is not good enough to be the main man.

Should never be our main striker. Celtic are like Newcastle our centre forwards have always been a revered position. Idah isn’t a total dud but our number one? Never

 

At what point is that bad luck just * finishing?

They said during commentary that he was second in the league for "big chances missed" last season. Just 1 behind Dessers who the huns think is an absolute diddy. Hadn't heard that stat but wasn't surprised.

Sam Dalby, Dessers and Simon Murray put him to shame in front of goal last year if you look at their shot conversion rate.

 

His impact on my blood pressure isn't helpful.

 

I thought he was pretty good tbh, should have scored though and can see why people would expect more from him.

 

See the thing that annoys me about him is he is a big shitebag

 

I hate hating Idah, or any Celtic player. In fact I don't hate him, I just hate the fact that he's seen as our best option at No.9 when he's just not up to it.

I don't blame him, if I had the chance to play for Celtic, even though I can hardly run the lenght of myself, I'd give it a go.

I blame BR and the board. They're not being fair on us or the player.
Just take the hit and let him go to a more suitable level.
