I feel both have you have completely glossed over my post and focused on one part.

Nowhere did I mention i was happy with our ambition or our current status, I stated i am not worried about this season as we have a manager that is clearly better, and if we back him I'm more than confident we can win the league.

Try reading the entire post next time :50:

The huns look dogshit and were lucky to get by Panathanaikos. Their fans will turn on Martin quickly. If we were to win in Ibrox later this month I think they would already implode.

But Europe is really where we want to keep building, progressing and trying to set some benchmarks for ourselves.

Tbf I hadn't seen your post. I was saying what I did assuming the happy clappers were gonna be in saying everything was good.

If Rodgers stays for the season we'll win the league and probably get another domestic cup.

I do think we'll qualify for the CL but no idea how we will do. Would be surprised if it's an improvement on last season.

Always a buzz to see them drop points but we need investment in the squad and hope no other key players leave.

Opened this expecting * to be giving it the big talk because their performance and how they looked and prepped to get * annoyed bout it. Pleasantly surprised and happy as * it’s not budged anyone. Good, can’t complain we think the club uses them as a barometer and do the same as fans.

As frustrating as our lack of transfer ambition has been, people forget the quality we have.

We already had the quality of Kasper, CCV, AJ, Reo, Cal, Daizen and Jota when fit.

We have brought back KT and we have added a full international in Nygren.

We just have to add two or three more quality players to that for a bit of squad depth.

Rangers, in contrast, have been bringing in bargain English championship players in the hope that something sticks. They are focusing their investment in attacking players and neglecting their mediocre defence. Our defence is battle tested at a high level.

We weren't super convincing in the last third of the season last time round and since that, we have only added KT and Nygren in terms of first-team players and have lost Kühn and Taylor from the first team and Jota will miss at least half the season. Add to that the fact that McGregor and Schmeichel are a year older (with question marks over the latter in particular) and it's not clear to me that we are stronger than last year overall.

That means that as it stands, we're relying on the Huns not being any better than last year, which very much remains to be seen and is rather reckless. So I'm not super confident at the moment.

However, there's still a month of the window to go and I think we'll probably get in the players that we clearly need... eventually.

Nah that argument doesn't wash I'm afraid. It was blatant at the end of last season that we had limited depth on the bench and the squad needed adding to. We sold Kyogo in January, our most important striker and didn't replace him. We then sold Kuhn in the summer who was along with Daizen our best attacking player for most of the season. He hasn't been replaced. So we now kick off the league campaign today with a WEAKER overall squad than the one we started last season with. So the quality you speak of having is an irrelevant point. Add into the mix that we have to play CL qualifiers so a strong squad is even more important at the start of August this year than it was last year and it is a totally unacceptable situation.

I also see no relevance comparing our business to Rangers. We are in a much stronger financial position and should be operating at a higher level in the transfer market. Even then they have spent more money than us this window so even your point that they're signing "bargain" players doesn't wash when its US that have actually been signing bargains. Buttons for Nygren, 250K for Inamura. Tierney on a free. A CB coming in on loan. We've spent nothing.

It’s not an argument, we still need investment and we are weaker than last season. I’m not contesting that. We still need to add and the lack of action isn’t good enough.

What I am saying is that we have quality that Rangers simply don’t have. There was a feeling that they might be stronger or that they might have momentum due to all the signings they are making.

Fees aside, Tierney and Nygren are a level above anything they have been able to add.

I don’t disagree and I have said we still need to add quality to our side. But we do still have quality in our side that they can’t match.

Same could have been said last season, yet Rangers got the better of us on several occasions. What they do doesn’t really concern me, as if we get our business right we'll be better. And that's the frustration, we are not getting it right.

Today was a glaring example of it. Our options on the wings is unacceptable. Happy to punt Kuhn but not replace him. Neither Yang or Forrest are good enough to be starting every game. We have no one on the left except Daizen until Jota is back. Its just not acceptable.

Tierney isn't a very good example. Its not like we scouted and recruitment him. Without being a die hard fan he'd never been here. So thats just luck that we've got him. Nygren has looked decent. But until the season is well underway you can't simply say he's better than everything they've signed. That remains to be seen.

Watching today's game, I'm dreading our CL qualifiers. We're woefully unprepared and as usual have left it late in the window.

    Still 50-50.
We are going to struggle badly in the Champions League qualifier and at Ibrox.
    Midfield is still dysfunctional.

One game in and my opinion hasnt changed. I think we will win the league and I think we are more likely than not to get through our qualifier and then get battered in the champions league.

I get the impression this weekends vibe will become a theme of the season. We will get to chuckle at Rangers not being very good and dropping more silly points than Celtic. And we will moan every other week watching underwhelming football but get to enjoy a sense of relief in watching celtic be mediocre but do a better job of grinding wins.
