100% the board are going to get pelters before and during the game, every bit deserved to be honest as well with this handling. Radio silence from them while Rodgers has to play politics in the media instead of fully concentrated on the team.

I'm just glad he's been as blunt to be honest.

    Nothing else needs said now.

At least everyone is backing Rodgers again, the one thing the board has done right :67:

Message is loud and clear from the gaffer.

If the manager ain’t backed it won’t only be Brendan leaving at the end of the season there’ll be calls for Desmond to sell up.

I'm the same as you. Even if they ended up right, I'll still call out people who complain about signings early July. For me, that's just exhausting and not worth ruining your summer over.

Start of Augist however? Completely fair game, I'm not expecting 100% of our signings done by now, but at least 50-75% should be done.

I know I keep saying this but if we had at least signed Kuhn's replacement alongside Pusey, I wouldn't be panicking or annoyed, I would be slightly concerned at best, but to not have anyone in place there alongside no actual links isnt good enough.

Starting the season with Idah and Yang up top is disgraceful.

Just watched Brendan interview on Sky.
We can pretty much say goodbye to him, although he's left the door a little ajar for an end of window miracle.

Tried hard to be diplomatic but seemed unusually hesitant, talking about....

'Pushing the board' and 'the managers needs being different from the clubs'
'There are clear gaps in the squad that hopefully we can address'

Then when you tag his comments on his future and the fact he's not even been offered an extension...

"There's conditions we want in to be able to improve and be better because I'm not the type of manager that's good at maintaining anything.

"If it's just something to maintain, I'm not the manager for Celtic. It'll be someone else. But to build and grow and develop and push, then of course I love being at Celtic"

This routine from the board is getting * tiresome.

It's like they just dont want any manager really going further than 3 seasons.

1st year is always wher they go mostly full pelt with transfers, 2nd season we maybe see one little bright spark, 3rd season despite by this time operating with record revenues at the time, we just pull the rug and tell the manager the banks closed no more money

If Rodgers walked tomorrow, I wouldn’t hold it against him. Shambles of a board.

As clear a warning as the board could have, back the best manager we can prolly get atm or * about with transfers, lose him and replace with our own version of Russel Martin...

Absolute shitshow it's come to this the day before the season starts.

That last line gives reason for a bit of optimism. He has framed the issue perfectly and hopefully the board feel under pressure to do something.

Depressing to be starting a new season like this though. Its a tough balancing act for manager and fans to be loud in their cirticism of the board but equally positive and supportive of the players already here.

My only gripe with what Rodgers said, is why leave it to 2 days before the season starts. Should have said this 4 weeks ago.

He’s been saying this since the start of the window mate re transfers

He’s also mentioned the situation with his contract

    Hard to argue with anything.

Again, celtics biggest challenge is ourselves. I don’t think any of us are expecting top top players or to spend 20mill on a player, we are just wanting quality in that improves the team. And I would imagine brendan is similar.

its unnecessary self sabotage, whatever way you look at it.

doubt much will change but its so clear we need massive changes to the way we are run and how we operate as a football club. We are still a football club right?! That’s the priority.
