Late this afternoon participating Celtic fan media outlets each received a rota from Celtic for matches up to the split for pre and post match access to media conferences

The Celtic Star has been involved in this arrangement with the club since it started in 2021 and remains involved with the most recent activities being the ‘welcome back to Celtic’ fan media conferences with Ross Doohan and Kieran Tierney.

The Celtic Star is actually first up on the rota to attend the media conference at Lennoxtown tomorrow afternoon and we’ll hopefully get the chance to direct some pertinent questions to Brendan Rodgers ahead of our flag day season opener against St Mirren.

For clarity the other pre-match media conferences that The Celtic Star will attend will be ahead of the games against Hibs in September, Dundee United in November, Hearts in December, theRangers at the start of January 2026, Livingston in February and then Dundee United again this time in March 2026.

Post-match The Celtic Star will attend three post-match media conferences at Celtic Park after games against Falkirk in October, Aberdeen in December and then Motherwell next March.

Fixtures have been allocated up to the split. Access for split fixtures will be allocated after these have been allocated. Hopefully the other outlets will let supporters know when they are scheduled to be attending the media conferences this season.

It’s fair to say that the club’s attitude to the fan media participation had faltered last season, so it re-assuring to see this being formally organised for the season ahead. That’s certainly a positive. None of the participating fan media outlets have any ‘special’ relationships with the club, perhaps learning lessons from early entrants into Celtic blogging.

Many of the sites are NOT now involved for varying reasons but there are enough there to ensure that the support has an ongoing opportunity to direct questions to the club this season

The Celtic Star always seem to have wee digs at other Celtic fan outlets it feels. Dunno why. What other Celtic fan bloggers or fan media do isn't any of their concern.

As for the fan engagement, it's a positive. But don't expect it to last. Whenever fan media actually start asking some tougher questions it seems to get the rug pulled from under it.

Always thought Postecoglou looked more relaxed and at ease speaking to the fan media outlets as opposed to the mainstream press too.

Using derogatory or racist terms in a comical fashion to underscore the ignorance of a character is a key component of satire these days, especially when the terms are attributed directly to subject being ridiculed.
