It takes us an age to do anything. We've known about every signing so far well over a week before they were made official. So evidently we're not close to signing anyone.

Appears the player wants the move, the club are open to it and won't be difficult, just want a fee they feels is correct. So it's up to the club to stop low-balling then.

Like I said last night, all indications this is a goer and should be done. It is just taking 3 weeks rather than 3 days due to our low balling.

Said from the off I think he looks class. Will be delighted if we get the finger out and bring him in. Big 'if'.

All for this… assuming he’s not being signed as a winger.

FC Twente submitted an offer for Jakob Breum that was higher than Celtic's initial bid.

The Parkhead club are attempting to sign the winger from Go Ahead Eagles but have already had three offers rejected. They started at £1.5 million before increasing that to £1.75m and then £3m, but were still rebuffed. The Dutch club want £6.5m and are a holding firm.

The men from Glasgow's east end are not the only ones showing interest and PSV were previously linked. However, Go Ahead Eagles technical director Jan Willem van Dop has indicated that FC Twente have been in touch as well.

Their technical manager Jan Streuer initially contacted about another player but added Breum to the conversation and submitted a proposal that was already worth more than Celtic's

Van Dop told Oosttribune: “I spoke to Jan once this summer and he inquired about Joris Kramer. And then I very clearly indicated that we don’t want to lose Joris.

“And that’s what I like too. You can then fight at that moment. But Jan indicated in response to my explanation right away, ‘Well, Willem we respect and are and done with that.’

“And then he had a second question and that was Jakob Breum. I say, ‘Well, obviously that’s something to talk about if the price is right.’

“And we didn’t get out of that. What to me was the only positive of that was, that they offered at least already above the official offer that was ever made by Celtic.

“Because that was one and a half million. So his thinking was higher.

“I at least indicated that we did not go along with the bid that they made. And coincidentally this morning, obviously we still had the agent on the line who hopes that he will go that way.

“And we are, I think, really not the hardest club, but it has to fit. And if we don’t come out of it financially better, we also have that that right, I think, to then say, ‘Well, then it’s not going to happen.'

But this is old news no? I found an article from 18th of June:

    https://www.twentefans.nl/jakob-breum-naar-fc-twente-dat-bod-hebben-we-opzij-geschoven/

So all the info/tweets seem old information, regurgitated as hot from the press news?

I do wonder if we're maybe planning on playing with 2 number 10's instead of wingers this season.

Obviously this boy and Nygren can play on the wings but both seem more suited through the middle, even Balikwisha looks better through the middle.

That's if this guy signs of course, but would explain the lack of winger links.

Btw, as much as we are a shambles, their technical director being so open about the details of bids etc reeks of them pushing interest.

I dunno, he says himself they aren't the hardest club to deal with. They've probably just accepted that him and Antman will leave this summer given the year they had last season and is being open about things.

Naturally they will want as much money as they can get.

Could be with Tierney back who will overlap down the outside a lot and Johnston also does that well, the wide players don't need to be much like Yang, Jota and Kuhn who we pass to and then they try and open things up and run at people. Could get away with guys who float about inside and are more like midfielders maybe players more the style of Rogic, Armstrong, Commons.

What even was the point of the first two bids. Fine if we started at 3m and working it up 4/5. Wasting everyone’s time and patience. * joke

Three bids from Celtic were lowball efforts and Go Ahead Eagles were not happy. The Dutch club put a price on their winger's head of around £6.5million and the best Scotland's champions could do was £3m.
Breum has other options on the table now from FC Twente who have already bid more than Celtic with their first attempt, so this one might not go Celtic's way.

It's not Tisdale that submits financial offers.

If these are his identified targets, I'd argue he is doing a good job. It's the next step that's the issue.

Getting publicly shamed by Go Ahead Eagles is a new low for me.

    I mean seriously.

Theres low balling, making substandard bids to set a bar lower eyc etc, and then theres just outright insulting a club.
3 bids, none of them even reaching HALF their evaluation, all topped by a club, FC Twente, with less than a third of our annual turnover.

    Unfuckingbelievable.

These * need taken out the back of the stadium and put up against a wall.
