Personally I felt like the squad needed/needs a bit of a shake. Just seemed a bit stale towards the end of last season and needs an injection of quality throughout.

Perhaps not major surgery, but certainly more than just a few tweaks.

When you see the squad on that image I posted earlier it is absolutely miles away from where we need it to be.

Same - he looks a better version of Kuhn

Frightening - moreover when you consider the amount of youngsters in there, plus the fact that neither Engels, Bernardo nor McCowan have truly set the world alight for us (while all doing relatively ‘okay’). Idah’s lack of form/quality and the risk of losing Daizen make this even more worrying. We need 4 quality signings, minimum.

Can’t say too much but it’s someone who has a good network. He told us back in January about an Irish player who we were after and had over to meet our reps including O’Dea and then the Mason Melia rumours surfaced not long after so I suspect they do know something to a degree.

At this point, I'd take Pudsey and Brum.

See if we had signed Kuhn's replacement by now, I'd be a lot more calm and would even be fine if it took us a bit longer to get a LW and a CB on top of that.

It's the fact we haven't and we're going to start the campaign with Idah and Yang up top that's not acceptable.

Yang has had a decent pre season but hes far too hot and cold and realistically needs to be sold, yet we can't afford to as our only other RW is Forrest, who is still a decent player but is getting older, not to mention he had a pretty bad injury last year. Idah isnt good enough, I hope Yamada hits the ground running.

I think we were definitely expecting another in by now, most likely that LW from Rapid, but we seemingly have no back up plan when things dont go out way in the market.

I still stand by the fact we will likely end the window with another two wingers and a CB signed at the bare minimum, but if we've dropped points in the meantime or even go out the CL, there'll be a lot to answer for.

I don't think there's any excuse for not having a replacement in by now. It's honestly mental.

I already have an issue with the way we operate in terms of not having someone in before he's even allowed to go.

Why sanction the deal without 99% confidence of a replacement? We were in control. Yet 3 weeks later nearly and still nothing.

I came into this window expecting Yang to be 5th choice at best or to even have left. Now, he will be starting the season at RW. Speechless.

Aye, even for us its very quiet for RW links, don't think we've had one this summer?

I think it was obvious to everyone that Kuhn was gone this summer, so to not have any replacement lined up before the season starts is bewildering to me. Even if signed someone out the blue tomorrow, they likely won't play against St Mirren.

You would imagine there's one that's fell through that the media hasn't got a sniff of, I remember we only learned that a deal for Piccini fell through nearly 5 months later during Rodgers first spell.

I honestly do think there's a bit of disconnect between our board and Rodgers tbh. Not saying theyre at odds with each other and Rodgers is leaving again, but I think its clear there's a few signings here that won't be his first picks, even if theyre good (Yamada and Inamura spring to mind)

Big month ahead either way, if we win every game in August, qualify for the CL and get the above 3 positions in at a minimum, then I'd be willing to forgive the board for taking a bit longer, but that's a lot to ask with this current squad, and a bit unlikely.

We have a tough start to the season. There's just very little excuse for not having most of our business done by the time of the play off.

I definitely think the no auto UCL isn't helping things. We know they've got previous for it.

I can accept maybe waiting till the final week for 1 or 2 players or a "marquee" signing, but at the very least our wide options should be sorted.

It's just the same old *, again. Thought we may be getting past this. I just feel that nothing will ever change until the Huns win the league again or theyre competing regularly. So reactive.

They could easily get a replacement for Kuhn. The issue is they have decided to use the weeks following his sale to target the cheapest possible spending with the sole priority of spending as little as possible. Its been a complete failure of a process in the name of saving a few quid it seems when the funds are in abundance.

Its an awful season to do it with Rangers undergoing a takeover and investing in their team and a qualifier to navigate for the champions league, not to mention a trip to Ibrox at the end of next month.

There is time to salvage things if they can stop rattling around clubs with their beggars cup out and prioritise getting some players in rather than what they have to spend to do it.

see that’s what I don’t get. If there are 1 or 2 potentials at a high level, surely the lure of champions league aids our cause. To get there, we need to qualify so why not invest to get the squad to at least a similar level to qualify, push for the quality signings and also the money that goes with it?!

no one is asking for a fortune but even 3/4 of money brought in could get us looking good and still see a profit. Can’t get my head round it at all.

Were we linked with any of those players?
It’s not the midfield Esposito mentioned here, it’s his brother who is a striker and still at Inter.
