I would honestly have him over idah. No point developing Idah.

    Shin first striker

Looks like he's got something to him.

I assumed an out and out striker, but he took to the left side fairly well and cut in good.
He's not ready to be a starter for us, but he looks like he will be absolutely wasted in the B squad for the level they play at.

There could be space in the squad for him, if we had adequate depth and quality already, but we surely can't be relying on him.

A loan out to an Aberdeen or Dundee United would do him well.

If and I realise it’s a big if the rumours are true and we are trying to offload Idah and Kenny why didn’t we give him more game time pre season?

He looks far, far less ready to contribute than Kenny (who is also barely good enough to be a squad player).

Looked sharp, dynamic the other night when limited space out wide.
Looks a more natural football player than Kenny (imo)

I would agree with that. Way to early to say he has or has not got a chance at Celtic but certainly as we head into the opening game of the season there is no question for me that Kenny is clearly way ahead of Osmand.

There is always reasons for everything. Maybe Brendan does not think he is ready yet.

A loan seem the viable outcome.

Maybe he wanted to put Kenny in the shop window..

Osmand had plenty of offers, not sure he's come here to be loaned out..

    We'll see I guess

Got high hopes for him. Welsh players for us have rarely disappointed.

Rodgers spoke last year of wanting the 3rd striker to be a young player. Was originally wanting it to be vata.

So he kinda fits the bill to be 3rd choice. It's the 2 ahead of him that needs addressed

New Celtic striker Callum Osmand is feeling confident about making an impact at the club after a productive first pre-season working with Brendan Rodgers.

Osmand arrived from English Premier League side Fulham this summer at the end of his contract in London, signing a four-year deal with the Bhoys.

The forward has been part of the first-team group on trips to Ireland, Portugal and Italy throughout the pre-season period and has featured in multiple friendlies.

He has competition in the position with Adam Idahand Shin Yamada both likely to be picked ahead of him as it stands, and Rodgers is still on the lookout to add more attackers to his squad in the transfer market.

Nonetheless, Osmand feels good about his time at the club so far and is happy to be patient in order to get his opportunity.

"I'm loving it," the teenager told Sky Sports. "It's a great club, it's just massive. The fans are incredible, so yeah, I really feel welcome here and I'm enjoying every moment."

This is an assessment period for Osmand as Rodgers decides what path his development needs to take in the short term.

"Obviously, I'd like to make an impact right away," Osmand said. "But if I need time to get settled, then that's what you need. But I'm confident in myself and hopefully I can make a big impact at the club."

On settling, Osmand shouted out Laith Al Naeme as pivotal to helping him make the move from England to Glasgow.

Al Naeme started his career at Celtic as the club's Social Media Manager before becoming the Senior Player Support Officer. He recently left the position to take up the First Team Operations Manager position at Qatari side Al-Gharafa SC.

The striker said, "There was a boy here called Laith. He was sort of like the man here. If you needed anything, you go to him. So he's sort of pulled me in.

"Then obviously the players are all amazing with me, so welcoming. I have to include the manager. He's been outlining everything he wants from me, so yeah, it's incredible."

    And what does Rodgers want?

"He just wants me to bring energy, bring what I'm good at and don't change my game really," Osmand explained. "I feel like I've got the qualities to come and show what I can do here. So, he said just keep playing my football and then obviously he's going to help me with the little bits."

Osmand will be hoping to make his competitive debut for the club this weekend when Celtic face St Mirren in their Scottish Premiership opener.
