Said before this summer it only takes complacency from us and one or two good windows from them and incredibly any advantage we had could be given up.

Still don't think they've signed that many players to be concerned over. However the likes of him and Turgeman for example would definitely be good signings on paper.

    Mind this last year https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68385099

"resources were available" in the January window, Lawwell cited the "unavailability of identified targets".

"This was disappointing to us all and never the intention."

"The January transfer window is notoriously difficult as clubs are very reluctant to let their best players go at such a crucial time of the season, just as we are," said Lawwell.

"It is notable that transfer activity in England was the lowest it has been for over 10 years, excluding the impact of Covid-19. A number of reasons have been cited for this including the absence of suitable players and new Uefa regulations, which impose spending caps."

Lawwell pointed out Celtic "resisted strong interest in our players from other clubs"

Now based off our chairman's words the summer window should be easier and we've appointed Tisdale months ago to identify players. This time it is notable that clubs in England are throwing cash about and some massive deals have already been done and some are in the process of getting done. We can't even fall back on the last quote above as Kuhn has gone and Kyogo was also sold ... in January.

Also the interest we rejected in the article above was a loan deal from Atletico for O'Riley. Excuses upon excuses

Of course you do and if you know you have £17m incoming, go and get the winger that you want, even if you have to pay a little more.

The club were right not to sign Jansson for £8m. The club are wrong not to try and sign Breum for £5m(even though I think he’s far better as a midfielder). We should be giving them £10m for Breum and Llansana, who is their Defensive midfielder. Excellent player.

I understand that we got our fingers burnt with Idah, and however sanctioned that needs a good kick in the baws.

But on the evidence so far, we've made up for it with Nygren Yamada and Inamura. Also in time Osmond should prove to be a bargain.

So for * sake can we just move on and try one or two more big (for us) money signings.

Id still be surprised if we didnt end up getting the players in the door by the end of the window. That would be remiss even for this board and I just dont believe that the club is prepared to run with Yang and Forest until December.

It just smacks of the club getting some decent business done early and instead of kicking on and using the Kuhn money proactively to get further business done, they opt to use the next 5 or 6 weeks to try to haggle for the absolute bare * minimum fee to pay on a selection of targets. Then being forced to pay higher than they want closer to deadline having sacrificed pre-season and opening weeks of the league to save a couple of million that they can easily afford.

In some years, that might be ok if you have a strong first 11 and automatic CL entry. But this year we have a CL qualifier and a game in ibrox in August. Its just not the year for it.

Nothing to be said that hasn't already been said.. Im actually apathetic about it now..

We'll definitely get players in, the needless gamble with CL Qualification is difficult to understand..

Unfortunately, it will take another league loss before there's change to our outdated structure and thinking.. maybe not this season but it's on the horizon unless we change soon.

At this point it feels like the board are telling Rodgers for his "million wingers" comment.

"Prefer * all wingers eh Brendan? Right ye are..."

If the Huns go out and sign Antman fairy hassle free while we attempt to haggle to death the same team for another player I think it speaks volumes about the ambition of this window.

That would be a no brainer signing for us, guys a very decent winger with a lot of upside.

That shouldn’t be allowed, do they not know they can only increase their bids by 250k a week?

5 weeks today until window closes.

5pm on 1st Sept we are now essentially into a winter window timeframe.

    Next 5 weeks we have

    Rangers and Aberdeen away
2 games to qualify for UCL
    St mirren home
    Falkirk home LC

Potentially livingston at home too (unless we postpone)

So 6 games minimum with the current squad.

    Shambolic!!!!
