He committed to not leaving before the end of his contract. Thats not the same as saying hes leaving after 3 years.

He has made it clear over the last 3 windows that the board does not match his ambition for the team. Its not a stretch to conclude that this will be the main reason for Rodgers leaving.

How about the board show that they match his ambition and he signs a new contract ?

I'd be looking to change things up after this season regardless of how things pan out. 3 years is about long enough for a manager here imo, after that some fresh ideas are required.

Obviously the issue there is the level of the guy replacing him, but we shouldn't be hesitant to do it through fear of it not working out.

My worry is whether he will manage to bow out on a high if we continue this nonsense in the transfer market.

Our squad is worryingly thin and a couple of injuries or a player moving on away from a full scale disaster. Especially in the forward line we simply need to be doing more or I don’t think we will definitely be winning anything.

Love the big man but I'd rather try something new tbh.

The performance of the team post December last year and the run of performances against against Rangers still concern me to be honest.

If we turn in our increasingly frequent poor showing for the first huns game and lose that then there may not be the clamour for him to stay on.

Im not really sure what to expect this season.

I felt like Ange got on well with our board tbh, don't think I remember any disgruntles during his time here.

Moot point anyway whilst Rodgers is here.

Yeah and then Lawwell returned and roughly 3-4 months later he instructed his agent to start touring him around EPL and he was gone by end of may.

I think a helluva lot of managers will think twice about coming to us due to the reputation of our tight fisted board as I'm sure people at other clubs who have dealt with our club will talk about just how * our board are in transfer negotiations

Think they will still come, the problem is they wony stay long enough to build properly.

They come in do well and then they have ambitions to push on and do something meaningful in Europe and they are held back by the board and they leave.

With new champions league format and with a bit of proper recruitment and bit of luck in the draw we should have ambitions to make it to quarter finals.

We finished 1 point off last 16 and 4 points off top 8 last year. We 100% should have beat Zagreb and Brugge game could have gone either way but wasn't beyond us to win that either.

The board constantly undersell us with their aim of just qualifying for European group stages.

Yeah no doubt we will spend the kuhn fee but it's a slap in the face when it's blown in the last week of the window but on last minute panic buys.

Genuinely, wouldn't blame him to announce this is 100% his last season by the end of the window.

*, I'd not hold it against him to do the dirty on the board again.

He owes the club absolutely nothing.
I'd like to think most fans can see he's been shafted yet again and he's not getting given the tools he wants or needs to progress the squad.

Walk out at any time and I'll say thank you.

At this point, if he was to announce in the morning that he's leaving, I wouldn't blame him at all.

Price tag can also be argued is more the clubs fault than Rodgers or the players themselves.

Got rinsed by Norwich, clearly. Because the board was stupid enough to declare how rich we were. And brag about it, while also basically admitting we had no backup option to Idah.
Engels is money spent on potential I think we can all see but unsure if he will hit it.
Trusty probably could have been lower had we not left it late and scrambled at the end of the window for.

Folk can question him or his record in the market all they want, but one thing I have no doubt on is that he only wants the best quality we can get on the park.

I don't think he will be being unreasonable in his demands tbh. But there's clearly a breakdown happening again.

So * annoying. They don't know how good we've had it with him.

I also don't agree with the notion that we should change things up regardless at the end of the season. If he wanted to sign a new contract we should 1000% be tying him down assuming things are going well.

I get that people like freshness etc but I don't trust them to source a manager. We definitely won't get one more experienced or qualified. Or one whom players would want to play for as much as Rodgers. And if he was to win the league again and show more progress in Europe why the * would people want to change it up just because it'd be nice to try something new? Find that weird and an unnecessary risk to take if it can be avoided.

Can guarantee our rivals would welcome that.

Everything is setting up for a tough season.

With him leaving at the end of the season and his track record in the transfer market. The board seem reluctant to back him financially.

It's worrying our squad is still bloated with midfielders who all play similar. We still look like going into the season without a defensive midfielder.

Rodgers looks like he'll be keeping the same old predictable tactics too.

All a recipe for disaster IMO.

Yeah I thought pre season games it would be a good opportunity to try 442 or 352 but he doesn't look like he will change 433.
