Nah Engels and Osmand wouldn't be able to be on b list. Need to have been here 2 years before turning 21.

We are only allowed 17 non homegrown players

We currently have 14 that are likely to make the squad; Schmichel, Sinisalo, AJ, Inamura, CCV, Scales, Trusty, Engels, Bernardo, Hatate, Nygren, Yamada, Idah and Maeda.

Leaves us only 3 space, LW, RW and striker. Rodgers reportedly wants all 3. So if we are after a CB we either need to punt 1 or possibly leave out Yamada

Find this a bit odd to be honest. Option to buy that’s fine but I thought Dane Murray did really well in pre season to justify being 4th choice CB? We all clamour for our youth players to break through.
Maybe we don’t trust CCV to stay fit for long periods now so we’re building for that as the lads a good player. Without an option to buy would be ridiculous.

Bernardo would likely be left out then.

Just get this to *. It's an absolutely pointless loan and I'd rather we played one of our own players over him anyway. Its not like he's going to be starting over CCV, Trusty or Scales.

Really don't see that happening at all and don't get why people have the impression he's not still valuable part of the squad.
He's barely played pre season bcoz he was away with Portugal. Showed last nite that he's most likely to be understudy to McGregor.
We ran with just 5 midfielders last year and all it took was 1 injury, ironically to Bernardo, to make us look really light in midfield when we needed to make subs, our only option was Mccowan.

4cbs is enough. Murray will be the 4th and if Welsh doesn't leave there is still room for 1 more homegrown player so that's 5 cbs. So unless Trusty or Scales are leaving then I don't get why we are looking at a loan for an inexperienced CB, particularly not a right footed one given Rodgers insistence on playing a left footer at LCB.

A centre back only makes sense if they're a first choice left sider, and then one of Scales or Trusty goes or relegated to less game time.

But nothing this window has made sense, so we'll probably bring him in and keep everyone

I think a loan to buy option for the boy would be the preferred option as it gives us a bit of security if he was to succeed here. But there’s still a lot of potential positives if he’s highly thought of at Man City in taking this loan.

1.If Pep rates him enough to not want a buy option inserted he may be out of our ability to buy, similar to denayer when we loaned him and We have also shown to have a good relationship with Man City to get loan deals made permanent, Roberts Boyata. So deal may not be as difficult as Idah

2.He could potentially become a starter besides CCV and move scales and Trusty to back up positions at CB which could be an upgrade the position.

3.Which for me could be an important point in Dane Murray’s development, he has looked good in preseason but his biggest issue is his ability to stay fit and get game time. That’s unlikely to happen this season at Celtic so loaning Simpson Pusy could be the Murray replacement to give him the opportunity to go out and prove himself and if successful could be ready to step into the first team next season and we haven’t bought a player to block his path.

Screams of Rodgers going at end of season. Not bringung in a player on high wages and long contract as next manager may do things different

Think Rodgers is going to reveal a lot about what's gone on behind the scenes here when he retires.

    These links are atrocious

If this is not a LTB then we are going back in time to Rodgers final season in charge…… two brutal windows filled with loans.

    Groundhog Day…….

Genuinely think he feels an obligation to us to see this third year through, especially after 2019.

Hopefully he can work his magic because he's getting next to no backing.

He actually looks a good player in his YT's and is highly rated at City. He has pace, height, wins his aerial duels ( something we lack ), and brings the ball out very well from defence and advances deep into the midfield, remember this was one of Ajer's best traits ?.

And it says to me if secured, that we are hedging our bets on CCV fitness ability to see through the season, and my guess, Trusty is leaving.

Man City loanees seem to be our break glass in case of emergency option
