I can remember thinking this when Villa came on this game that’s almost * unfair, but just heard on a podcast the 2-1 win against Barcelona the three subs they brought on were David Villa, Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique.

Can that be topped? In a game we won as well.

Barca in 2008 at Celtic Park brought on Eto'o, Xavi and Gudjohnsen for Henry, Ronaldinho and Deco. They also had Thuram on the bench.

We subbed on an 18 year old striker for our RB, with our attacking midfielder who usually for us had no expectations to defend in Kris Commons going to RB.

And from all the subs there, that was the one that won the game. Wild.

Man Utd the 1-1 game they brought on Berbatov, Evra and Rooney. That’s up there.

Gudjohnsen is the odd one out there and what a player he was.

This season was pretty impressive. Bayern brought Muller, Sane, Coman and Davies off the bench.

In 2004 when we drew 0-0 with AC Milan at home, they had Kaka, Pirlo, Crespo, Cafu, Gattuso, Fiore and Seedorf on the bench.

People talk of the growing gulf in quality in the champions league, but forget that it was huge then also.

4 - 3 game v Juve they brought on Trezeguet, Pessotto and Maresca.

Both Pessotto and Maresca were decent players who went onto play in major finals but at that time Trezeguet was one of the best forwards in the world and he was tremendous that nite.

Also remember the Real Madrid game a few years back and Militao got injured and the brought on Rudigar, and the guy next to me saying ”how is that * fair”.
Had a look at the rest of their subs that night were Camavinga, Rodrygo and Asencio

In terms of their impact Trezeguet is the winner, he absolutely terrorised us from the second he stepped on the park.

Only time I’ve been sat in the stand and literally cringed every time a single opponent got the ball, it was like a 6th year coming on against 1st years in school and just going on a mazy every time. He honestly could have had 5.

That thread I made about the Asian players I ended up looking up that Milosevic keeper and seen he played in the under 20 World Cup in 1997 and ended up looking that up and France had Henry, Anelka and Trezeguet in their team in it :56: they must have been absolutley frightening together as youth players for France. All 3 able to skin players, score for fun, quick.

Look at that for an under 20 team
