    Not saying it’s true

But it was hinted at on the Celtic underground/Huddle Breakdown podcast

Charlie Mulgrew tells Celtic the signing they should make

Charlie Mulgrew has urged Celtic to sign his former Blackburn Rovers teammate Tyrhys Dolan.

The winger is a free agent after leaving the English Champonship side and has previously been on the radar at Parkhead.

A move to Spain could on the cards as Espanyol have been linked more recently, but Mulgrew wants to see his old club swoop for the 23-year-old.

Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for wingers after selling Nicolas Kuhn to Como for £17million.
Dolan scored seven and assisted six for Rovers last season and his former teammate sees him as a perfect fit for the way the Scottish champions play "Wingers, in the past, have played a huge part in everything Celtic are," he said on Go Radio.

"Speed, assists and goals. I think Brendan Rodgers would love a winger who has goal contributions and who can score goals. I think that’s an area that they can improve on.

"Somebody asked there who I would sign for Celtic. I would sign Tyrhys Dolan.

"He is out of contract with Blackburn, a winger. He was a young lad coming through at Blackburn. He was brilliant last year. He is out of contract, so I would go and sign him."

Absolutely sick of our recruitment approach for first XI players
    • Scout - find good players. we are actually quite good at this part
    • Target player - one at a time, don't ask manager, only after we sell big
    • Lowball them - offer less than the half value, not enough to start a serious negotiation, leave our lowball offer on the table
    • Monitor - wait for huge reduction in fee - that never comes
    • Continue to monitor - sit on our *, maybe offer a few quid more than initial lowball
    • Monitor some more - why didn't they accept our great offer asks Peter? others now interested and actively negotiating fee
    • Player moves elsewhere - for bit less than asking, but much higher than our lowball offer(s) - well, we did try
    • Move onto next target - not quite as good as previous target, but maybe we can still get a bargain!
    • Sell another big player - well we cant turn down that size of fee - we might need to spend a bit more than budgeted you know
    • Repeat cycle
    • Panic - manager moans about recruitment, borrow/buy our 5th or 6th choice in final days of window, forced into paying actual or higher than value. Wonder what could have been on if we'd been serious about first choice targets

Can see the stress levels ramping up now, hope we get a couple in soon before people start self combusting. Also hope attempts are made to remember that quality incomings will mostly be nearer the end of the window, annoying but true all the same.

We'll get our business done in the end and go on to have a spectacular season.

We're now just over a week away from the season starting and our best XI currently includes Idah and Forrest no harm to either of them but it's just not good enough and is inexcusable seemingly with nothing imminent in terms of incomings

We always bang on about players needing a full pre season etc so why aren't we looking to do most of our business early doors? I'm sorry but not bringing in 1 winger so far is terrible. It doesn't wash with me that you need to wait till later in the window to get quality.
I'm not fully bashing the club as I really like Nygren and Inamura could potentially be a great player judging on pre season so far but we really should of had a winger in before now. We can't start with Forrest or Yang starting on the right come the start of the season

Why would you want a 74 year old Irish billionaire getting involved in transfer negotiations

Leave it to the guys who know what they are doing

The way we are doing business once again the people that called it right at the start of the window is now coming to light once again.

I don’t know why people thought it would be any different.

Boss have been made, * low terrible offers for players and there we will get, well at least we tried.

Then it will be it’s just not the right time to buy regarding what other sides are paying etc…….

Still plenty of time left in the window……

Value for money is not there……

Need to wait to see if we qualify for the champions league.

Panic buys and last minute loans……

Honestly want to be proved wrong we all do and we go out and sign some real quality in the next 3-4 days but can you see it happening?

We can't really afford to wait until the last week this year though with the qualifier in mind.

Maybe for one or two, but not for all signings. The wide positions need sorted now.

Been quite patient myself and still think we will do business but we haven't even replaced Kuhn yet never mind adding additional quality on top of what we lose.

No doubt we're light on the wings, RW at least (Daizen has the other side covered). Am sure we could bring in a couple sharpish but I reckon we're looking to get a high quality replacement for Kühn, which will be later on.

As Rodgers says, we'll not bring in players for the sake of it.

We’ve lost Kyogo (months ago) and Kuhn, and haven’t replaced either of them.

Come on man... We've been through this a million times. 50 odd million is at stake with cl qualification. We have 70 odd million cash in the bank. The chances of us failing to qualify due to this waiting to get value near the end of the window are huge.

Over the years we've definitely lost out to average teams in qualifying as the team has been left short. I thought with the early movement this Summer we might have finally had things in place, but as time is creeping on it just like like business (or no business) as usual.

I really, really hope there are LOTS of things going on in the background, but I fear it's just the same old story, just a different window.
