Pretty simple. Doesn't do it unless he has no other options, same was true of Ange.

We've had just about enough home grown in Forrest, McGregor, Ralston and in parts Johnston/Welsh/Murray etc for that to work last 5 - 10 years but it'll come back to bite us soon and it'll be Rodgers and Anges legacy. Does make me ironically chuckle every time I hear about Rodgers ability to coach and bring on players despite little to no evidence of that ever actually happening or him actually caring about that.

Meanwhile Hoops youngster Jude Bonner is set to sign for Ayr United on a season long loan deal.

The highly-rated 19-year-old was handed a debut last season but will be sent out to get game time under Somerset Park boss Scott Brown.

Ayr would be a good team to loan a few lads out to for genuine game time at a decent learning level, given that we know broonie would be instilling real knowledge of where they'd need to get to and how to do it... He's also not gonna *-talk us to unsettle them

There are a few teams I think we should be looking to work with on loaning players.

In the past Aberdeen worked well for us but they took their fans don’t like it so I can’t see them doing that anymore and they also seem to be trying to develop their own player trading model.

Hearts definitely won’t now as their signings will likely mainly come from obscurity and Hibs probably will be limited.

However, Dundee Utd with Goodwin there, St Mirren with Robinson, Falkirk with McGlynn and Motherwell we seem to have a good relationship with, we should be looking to get those who we think could break through soon out too. Like if Osmand and Kenny are to go out on loan any of those clubs would be decent loans for them. Frame has been mentioned a fair bit could he go be first team left back at Falkirk who play a good style of football? Donavon similarly could he go play regularly for one of those four at right back.

Being honest I think Murray could do with going out and playing a season at that level to see if he could stay fit and perform. We could easily bring in an experienced centre back to cover CCV on loan or relatively cheaply come the end of the window, alongside a new starter for the left and move on Trusty.

Then you have guys like Bonnar, McCardle, Hatton, Turley who are probably championship as a next step get them out to Ayr, St Johnstone, Ross County and the likes to try play a season a couple of levels above where they have been.

I thought we may have saw Agbairre this preseason so far but now wondering if he might be on the move as he seemed to do fine at Ayr but was nowhere to be seen against QP or Cork. Either that maybe injured.

To me our B team playing in the lowland league should be 16 or 17 year olds. Who would actually even benefit from I think we are allowed to play a couple of over 30 players, we could probably afford to sign a couple of steady pros on small money for us but as good as they will get elsewhere and put them through their coaching. We would then have them in the team to help guide the young guys.

To me by 18 if they are to make it with us they need to at least be playing top end championship level.

I genuinely think McArdle is ready for us and above championship level, a season at a premiership club that's been mentioned like Motherwell, Dundee utd etc would be ideal.

I think he has the talent and you might be right but particularly in his case I think he would need to play in a side who are on the ball a lot, possibly Falkirk could be a decent fit for him and send Frame to one of the others.

I know it’s just friendly games but he was awful the time he was on the park vs Cork and it doesn’t sound like much better against Queens Park.

My main point would be there seems to have been a reluctance from our end to send guys out to play football so we have them for the B team but that shouldn’t be a priority, the priority is to get them playing as high a level as possible.

McCardle looked very much a wee guy in that game the other day. He isn't ready yet imo.

We've only seen two glimpses of him domestically, expectations will need tempered.

Would 100% be wanting to send as many of them out on loan as possible. Ayr with Broony, obviously the Queens Park connection and I definitely think we should ask McGlynn if he wanted any of our youth players for a season or two. Plays brilliant football, develops a lot of talent and I think they'll be a surprise package this season in the Premiership.

Thats a great call....between ex-players and forward looking teams, we could have at least a dozen of the youngsters out getting regular time and progressing their own development.....

See it's a season long loan, and not one under the new scheme where he can be recalled.

Is that because he doesn't qualify for Scotland, or because, I I suspect the new scheme only applies to Div. 1 and lower?

Didn’t realise he was on loan, happy with that, especially under Broony. He’s a wealth if knowledge for a young midfielder to learn from wanting to be a Celtic player
