I do refuse to believe that every single youth player we have just now is not good enough.

The most any have had since Welsh came into the team is about 5 games, we are not presenting the correct opportunities.

I do think there’s some truth in us not giving youth a fair chance…but then I look at the recent friendlies and think there’s absolutely * all there worth giving a chance to.

I know it’s just friendlies, but some of them look incapable of trapping a ball, or going past a player etc. Miles off it.

The Scottish set up is actually awful.

I know it is a woe is me, big club celtic cant bed in youngsters. But unlike other clubs, we demand success right now, every match is a must win, fans demand (most won't admit it, trebles every season) None of these lend itself well to developing young players within the senior team.

The less said about Lowland league nonsense the better.

Any young lad under 16 trying to make it in the game is best staying away from Scotland altogether because our youth system up here is a joke.

No there are quite a few still to be moved on. Hopefully it’s none of the main players in the first team.

Seen him a few times last season for Ayr, fantastic in the air and in physical duels but slow and a bit clumsy looking on the ball.

Then that’s on youth scouting and development. There isn’t a way you can cut this recent youth record that doesn’t amount to the football departments of the club being seriously at fault in various ways.

How long would you tolerate ‘just not good enough’?
