Hayato Inamura

Can see the makings of a good player there, been pleasantly surprised by him so far.

 

I think he looks a real asset going forward, quick, good with the ball and his passing was smart, he looked comfortable.

Defensive side was lacking, which is a bit surprising considering he was originally a CB, but I think that'll come with time.

I'd still be loaning him out but he's earned pre-season with us at least imo.

 

Would not surprise me if we never see him again aftet a fantastic pre season. Better get game time because he looks rrally good

Unless he makes a complete hoor of himself defensively over the rest of pre-season I think talk of him needing to be loaned out immediately might have been premature, his style of play looks ideal for us domestically when we're dominating possession.

 

Very hard to judge him defensively in a game like that. Think he has good composure and distribution of the ball and his movement is excellent. Constantly saw him moving into positions today to be an option for a pass.. loan for me is a waste of time, id keep him around the first team and a deputy to Tierney. Id be more inclined to judge him on domestic run of the mill games when he has first choice players all around him like McGregor rather than his center half being caught 50 yards out of position like today

Personally I would still loan him out to get more experience. Got some excellent qualities on the ball but a lot of work to do defensively and physically so don't think he'd be ready to step in for Tierney for a while yet.

But will trust Rodgers judgement on this one whether he thinks Inamura can learn the ropes quickly here or is best served loaned out.

 

Inamura all touches vs Cork City for anyone interested (I can do Estrela as well if anyone's interested but it was a quieter game).

I dont think he have had any chance to show his defensive side at all as the counters came through the middle by youth *-ups while Inamura was far up the park. Looks a really good player

FairPlay to you mate on the video. Was impressed by his passing while watching the game live but looking back at some of his passes again he was unlucky to not have a couple of assists. Very impressed with his on the ball ability so far even though cork wouldn’t be pressing as much etc
