There was some raging that McArdle didn’t feature last game of the season. The fickleness of football fans is like no other.

Murray in the CL would be suicide for us, genuinely.

I’m struggling a bit with Engels tbh, more often than not he’s a complete passenger in games.

We need another CM, no two ways about it . Problem is the wage bill as we are high on numbers in there when you add Bernardo and McCowan in.

We are absolutely feckin loaded (relatively!) and have more than enough cash to splurge £15M+ on top drawer #6 and good wages on top.

The blazers choose not to tho - that's not same as can't.

I'm still waiting on Engles actually looking as though he's going to be an asset for us. Taking corners, free kicks and penalties is all part and parcel of the game and most professional players should have the ability to do it adequately so why exactly did we spend big bucks on him?

This is a make or break season for him. He never takes the game by the scruff of the neck. I’m still waiting to see what £11m gets us.

Difficult to know how strong Estrela were v our B lads..

It's good to ascertain now, who may be out of their depth..

    Focus on the positives..

Run outs for KT, Hatate, Nygren(nicely weighted assist) Osmand has excellent movement..

We still have CCV, AJ and Bernardo to come into to our preseason..

Its clear where we need to add anf that hasn't changed.

The main problem for me with Engels is that he is not suited to our game. We have tried him in a number of positions and it has not worked out.Sometimes it happens in football, scouting reports very good, management convinced on the players attributes and potential, but then for a variety of reasons, the player fails to adapt or fit in at the club.We are kidding ourselves if we think the situation is going to get any better with Engels.
I think we should listen to any interested offers.

He played like a QB in Germany . Picking it up deep , one touch then spraying long diagonals and balls over the top . Not how we play.

Begs the question as to why we buy a player who doesn't fit into the system we play.

I'm thinking Brendan is quietly praying that someone comes in and makes a very good offer for Engels, so he can justify to the Celtic Board shelling out £11M on him in the first place. :giggle1:

Man last season's pre season had me pure buzzing about the year ahead. And tbf we were absolute quality until the Leipzig game.

Never came anywhere close to hitting the same type of form we saw for the first 4/5 months though.

I don't think we need hit the panic button yet.

I'm convinced if we get the four players that most of us know we need, then we will be in a very strong position again going into the new season. I think a lot of us are looking at all the signings the Huns are making, and us going apparently painfully slow, is making us all nervous and jumpy.

    We've all been here before.:giggle2:

I don't think we can judge our youth players unless we see one or two of them in the first team.
Chucking 6 or more of them into a so called first team, which is just an enhanced B team doesn't help them progress. In fact it probably causes their development to go backwards.

Every young player I have seen come into the first team has done well, but then got papped back into the B team.

Arrested development was a good tv show, but it's not a good strategy
