I can’t believe the media coverage of it, Rapid Vienna have a sell on now according to the record which is likely at about 10% of profit so about £1.4m but the other clubs being mentioned is nonsense it happens with every player sale those small payments. If Liverpool sell Doak we will be due a small chunk for example. If Johnston’s move had gone through we would have got a sell on and that small payment.

Feel weird that i’m happy he’s gone considering the goals and assists he had . Was on fire for a while , but has been stated it was only a short period . A huge return on what we paid for him and hopefully it’s reinvested in the squad.

 

See if someone had told you at this stage last season Kuhn would score over 20 goals and provide further 15 assists including goals in the CL against top Bundesliga clubs you would have just laughed.

He was written off, had people saying if he was on loan you wouldn’t sign him for the £3m which to be fair you could see those point. We are a season on, he played a. If hand in getting the prize money we did out of the CL and the healthy lead we had in the league, plus we now have £17m for him so more than 5 times what we paid.

All in this one has really worked out for us.

 

He was a good player but there was always an asterix besides even his better performances.

I always felt he turned up when he felt like it and switched off after a certain point in games. Not chasing the ball that Maeda would chase. Not mixing it up by going to the outside, not looking for options, just cutting in to have a pop. Barely got out of first gear in his first months here then we hear it's about some dental issue. I know yer teeth didn't stop you from running and kicking a ball, pal.

Mind when he scored against Bayern and signalled to come off soon after? Even at the time, I remember thinking, he thinks he's done his bit and that's him. That night was him in a nutshell.

Good player, not knocking that, but he's not one you could ever get enthused about because he rarely looked enthused himself. When he did his job, he did it well, but he could have gave far more in my view.
