It definitely points to a formation change I think, and it would be most welcome, because the 4-3-3 has been played out to death by us, and has cost us in the derby games and also the Champions League, though we did have a good run there despite it. Points to a 4-2-3-1 pivot this season for me.
Ambrosini strikes me as a No.10, but so does Nygren. It's going to be fascinating to see how this all pans out in real time and action. Could make all the difference.

I think Hatate could be for the offski, he's fit and well again, and the word is he wants the move.

 

Certainly looks that way given we've signed Nygren who can play centrally and now this boy as well would likely fair better behind a proper no. 9

Maybe with Tierney and AJ overlapping BR wants more technical players up top to provide better service for the striker.

 

Yeah seems like the most probable explanation for the players we're linked with. Bit of a relief really given the way we finished last season where our system looked very tired. A change is definitely required i think.

 

I agree, I think having the pace of Daizen and Kuhn helped us in the CL particularly on the counter, but a bit more guile and creativity won't go amiss if we're going down that route with our new signings.

 

Yep hopefully be seeing a bit of versatility this year man, time will tell.

 

Definitely, 90% of our games are played against 10 men defences so that counter pace isn’t really useful. Need players domestically who can dribble and produce that splitting pass

Sounds like Napoli don’t know if they want to sell just yet and would prefer a loan. However, his contract situation may force them to cash in.

We want to buy the player but aren’t willing to meet the figure Napoli have suggested yet. Meanwhile Cremonese has put a bid in of €3m plus a % of his future sale. No idea if that’s more or less than we are discussing with Napoli.

All while the player himself quite fancies the move to Celtic.

Out of the deals being talked about just now I think this one may actually go ahead. Mind you Napoli are normally pretty fierce negotiators and we like to think we are so may take some time.

 

I'd rather go after someone like Marc Guiu from Chelsea instead with an option to buy

I wonder how much Napoli are looking for, to sign him. I actually think this could prove a shroud move if it is around that €3m plus a sell on mark.

He clearly has a lot of technical ability, good physicality and I think with the right coaching on finishing plus playing in a more dominant team more goals would come.

Striker is probably one of the hardest positions to fill for a club just now as even top level there aren’t that many going about and that them trickles down.

Was only bought for 6 mill and he's got 5 Strikers in front of him including Delap and that Joao Pedro he ain't getting much game this season.....should at least see about a loan

The other striker they have I wondered if we would be interested in is Datro Fofana. It was always a strange signing when they bought him. Don’t get me wrong, he is a good player and still only 22 but was more someone we should have been buying not Chelsea.

He would do well in a Rodgers system as there are a lot of bits to his game that remind me of Dembele. Powerful, good pace, likes to drop in and get involved in play and link it.
