You're likely told this because it's the second of July.

It's not even like we've been inactive. We've signed two players who'll make a big difference already in Tierney and Nygren, a smart quota signing in Doohan and a young talented signing in Osmund.

We've been heavily linked with 2 CB'S, a LB, a ST and two LW's. The only two of which would be deemed underwhelming would be Inamura and Balikwisha.

I think Inamura is an interesting one, but he's likely a replacement for Lagerbielke, he won't be the only CB we bring in. Balikwisha clearly isn't our first choice and for the experience and cost he is, we could do far worse.

If it's near the end of July/start of August and we're no further ahead, then I'll happily join you, but @Sentinel hit the nail on the head with his post, no point stressing this early on, especially when it's been good so far.

I've been frustrated with the way we operate too and regularly been vocal about that. However I just don't think there's much point in starting this debate again on the 2nd July.

I don't know how you can come to conclusions e.g. we look like we are back to doing what we always do, after we've technically done the exact opposite of what we always do, by signing 4 players before 1st July.

The fact we've known about Tierney for a while doesn't take away from the fact he's a great signing on paper. And Nygren is a first team addition. The other 2 are smart signings. Japanese lad is debatable, aye.

If our business was to end right now and that's all we brought in? Aye I'd understand your posts. But noone can conclude anything either way about this window, yet.

I'm happy with the speed that we seem to be operating at. There's at least some new bodies in at the start of July. But I don't believe we'll spend much unless Kühn leaves, which is typical Celtic board.

I kinda thought that the way the season ended with defeat to Aberdeen and a few terrible games against the Huns that we would have been at least linked with a few big transfers , tierney was already signed and Nygren looks a player but a young boy from Fulham and a unknown Japanese cb ( no cb from Asia has worked out previously ) doesn’t fill me with confidence.
The Huns are starting to make signings , no one knows if they will be any good but they are also linked with a good few players aswell , brooks would be a good signing if he signs for them and I know we should focus on us but it’s hard when there’s very little links to get us excited and the ones that seem concrete don’t to me improve us in anyway!

I don't know if the Brooks to sevco rumor has anything to it but if it does and we let him go there instead of bringing him here then we're mad. A smashing wee player who'd fit right in here. Seems a nice guy too.

Hadn't heard of him until 2 hours ago.

Surprised as many are raving about him.

Rodgers saying recently there he expects more signings. Talking about adding freshness to the squad and underlining how a rehaul isnt needed.

Slightly different tone to in previous windows where he seemed more pushing for quality. Freshness feels a bit more like getting new faces in of varying levels of readyness.

Id like us to aim at improving the starting line up. We have done that with tierney which on a free is great business although there will be some fitness concerns.

Not sure the starting lineup has been strengthened elsewhere though. With jota out long term and ccv fitness in question i think we do need more quality whether the board get their big sale or not.

In each of the positions we need to strengthen though my fear is theres a player there that is blocking a signing.

At cb i think we badly need improvement, especially with ccv fitness less reliable. But i get the feeling trusty will be given the chance to improve and grow into the team. Its a gamble.

Our midfield 3 as a unit last year was ropey for me. Id like us to add more power in there and look to add quality. I expect engels to improve and mcgregor will play most minutes. The issue i think here rests with bernardo. I think having him on the books is potentially blocking any further additions. He hasnt shown enough consistently to command a starting spot but will probably be given another year to prove himself.

Up front the question mark is around idahs viability as the starting striker. Again i think he will be given a chance to develop into that this year given what we paid for him. But that could come at the cost of not signing another striker.

So i think it will be a big season for idah, trusty and bernardo i think to show if they are going to be able to hold down starting places at the club. Because unless we move them on i think their prescence in the squad is may block us from signing further first team level players.

He probably wanted quality last year becasue he'd had lots of squad players and little to no quality the summer prior. I think managers like having players to work with and build on too, keeps them interested and probably quite an interesting thing to do. I work with someone who loves developing young people in the work place. So maybe he wants a couple of them this summer too.

I think so far we have to be reasonably satisfied with the four that’s come in for differing reasons.

KT is a big upgrade on Taylor from a playing perspective and brings another leader and big personality in, something that is important as with Taylor going he appears to have been a big personality in the Celtic squad.

Benjamin Nygren, I think looks a good piece of business at just over £1m. He adds competition to our midfield as an 8/10 and to me if we keep playing 4-3-3 he is a better option as one of the two 8’s than Bernardo or McCowan. He can also play wide right and with the exception of the first half of last season Kuhn would be our best player in the squad there.

Ross Doohan, is a like for like with Bain but counts as club trained, hasn’t cost us anything and will be on modest wages. Minimum fuss and sorts out third keeper.

Callum Osmond, who knows how he will do but we lost Daniel Cummings for compensation and basically sent that money to Fulham to take Osmond. If we sell Kenny for circa £1m it’s all been pretty good, all be it small change stuff in finances but sensible. The Premier League 2 has a lot of young talented players in it who are blocked out by the mega money squads of EPL. He is a low cost gamble that seems to have a decent pedigree to him and some versatility. At best he proves to be a useful option and at worst he probably goes on loan by January.

On transfers out there has been links to Lagerbielke, Welsh, Kwon, Yang, Palma and Nawrocki, all who we would likely be keen to see move on. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks some of those firm up as I do think squad size is will prohibit us bringing in more players.

I would hope in the same timeframe that we get the first choice winger we are clearly looking for and fill one of the positions needing strengthened which I think is a player right up the spine of our team at centre back, centre midfield and Striker.

I would imagine we will know what’s happening with Kuhn shortly and that will probably trigger some first team signings, similarly with the players above moving on. Edit I wasn’t expecting that quickly.

It has been pretty quiet on the rumours out front for CCV, Hatate and Maeda, I would expect there to be interest in all 3 and perhaps Alastair Johnston before the window shuts.

Aye we need to see the extras going out the door now and free up some wages.

Hopefully can ramp that up next couple weeks.

No even being funny but Kuhn needs replaced within a week.

I'll give the board the benefit of the doubt and something is being done in the background.

Well don’t you two worry too much. When he doesn’t start so well we’ll be linked for a loan in January. And when he isn’t an instant hit we’ll be linked next summer for a “cut price” deal.

    repeat until he retires……
