I’d be happy with a talented youngster learning off Tierney, getting a lot of gametime us managing KT’s schedule, it’s an ideal situation to develop a youngster. Ironically for me I was neither here nor there Valle leaving halfway during the season, but a guy like him permanent would be unreal. I was fine with him going though, because I was 100% sure it was a non-starter that we could get him permanently and his potential was exciting but where he was here and now within the year we would have him, wasn’t good enough for us to give him that development when we won’t get the reward. More a useful option. But that learning off KT, developing for the future, playing but firmly in the relative safety of being second choice with a larger amount of time on the pitch as most back up options, it is ideal as * for development.

Equally, a safe, solid experienced older head calming presence knows the game inside out slots right in when needed… I would be equally as delighted with that.

I can’t think of good examples for any of those options that are feasible or realistic for us to target.

We will have a long list of options though, the rumours have been quiet but we were very aware of the situation, briefly opened talks with Schlupp but it looks like we moved on very quickly from that. We wouldn’t if we didn’t have others in mind, we would try and cling onto that option

This one concerns me slightly. But hopefully the rumours of an instant loan are true.

Every year the club makes a few £1m lucky dips and this is one of them in my view. They rarely work out that well and don't see why this should be much different. Nothing about him I can see that suggests something special waiting to come out.

I'm hoping that he'll surprise a few people. Always root for the guys who arrive with no fanfare.

Tbh I get why we are taking a punt. He's genuinely quality on the ball that you could probably mold him into a midfielder. If we can develop him defensively then he could be a gem. If he flops then it doesn't really hit the club's bank account and he probably goes back to Japan with no harm done.

Instantly reading this with Wanyama name screaming in my brain :56:
    Same thing happened with him.

Although not seen anything of the new guy, so I wouldn't even know if he would fit that mould at all.

Would personally see it as a bit of a classic celtic risk to replace Taylor with a raw Japanese CB who has played at left back now and again, coming from a side bottom of the league and not that long out the uni system.

We've got millions in the bank I'd hope that we are actually just going to sign a left back. Would just seem a bit of a needless risk akin to signing Kwon and hoping he'd potentially be our CDM savior. Fair enough with someone more established and giving them time but it's a risk relying on such punts from the get go.

Will see what Rodgers says when this guy arrives but just hoping it's not one meant for instant impact. If he can make it, great. On paper it seems like squad filler.

    Predictable take.

I’m just surprised it wasn’t in essay format with the usual Daily Record-like diatribe.

Hope he's better than we're hoping but it does just seem like a squad filler type of signing, which admittedly isn't always a bad thing.
