Just sell..better for him and the club. Nowhere near the level we require moving forward.
He smashed it as Shamrock Rovers but we're a different kettle of fish.

Irish forward Johnny Kenny is attracting interest across Britain and will be the subject of loan bids.

Although it’s probably better for him to go down south I’d love us to loan him to an Aberdeen or hibs. Team needs to be in Europe but also then we can see how he does domestically.

there is 100% a player there. I think his stock would only rise too if we saw him score 20-25 goals domestically here and then if we still didn’t fancy him next summer we could sell

A good domestic loan would be decent..

Unless we can get a decent transfer fee already from the English championship or something..

Meanwhile, Celts have turfed out a £500,000 bid from Bolton for Irish striker Johnny Kenny.

Kenny, 22, spent a prolific spell on loan with Shamrock Rovers last season before returning to Parkhead in January.

He spent the second half of the campaign on the fringes behind Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah, but did net his first goal for the club in a 5-1 rout at Pittodrie.

The frontman has admirers down south and it's believed the Trotters launched a bid to prize him to EFL League One.

But the opening offer was swiftly rejected by Parkhead chiefs.

It remains to be seen whether Wanderers will come back with an improved proposal.

We could easily get a mill or over for him. His performances in the conference league showed he could kill it at a certain level..

If we sold him for say 1.5 mill, I'd be looking for a hefty enough sell on as I could see him bouncing about the English championship..

    * 500k, could get far more than that. Be better off loaning him out in England. A decent season down there on top of a good conference league campaign and we’d be looking at at least 4x that.

If we get £1.2m for him, we've effectively swapped him for Nygren.

    Wouldn't sell him.

Don't necessarily think he has a future here but a loan would suit. Hibs ideally.

Don't think 500k is that unreasonable tbh. His record in the Conference League was good but I think people are underplaying how dismal the standard in that tournament is. Fair enough, a goal against Rapid Vienna is decent.

Other goals were against Larne, The New Saints and a Bosnian team I've never heard of.

He never exactly tore it up domestically in Ireland.

I'm thinking we should at least give him a lot of game time pre season, and if he does well give him plenty of starts/sub appearances.

He's done most of his scoring at a lower level, however surely the opposition he faced isn't any worse than Gary Hooper faced at Scunthorpe.

Hooper worked out ok for us, although he probably wouldn't have if he was getting 15 min on the pitch every few weeks.

Loan to the SPFL is surely a no brainer. See if he can be prolific at that level getting regular game time, reassess next summer.

CELTIC want £1million for striker Johnny Kenny — as Bolton try to land the goalscorer.

Kenny will be allowed to go at the right price and if Brendan Rodgers finds a replacement

League One outfit Wanderers are in at around £500,000 but Celts want them to double their offer before they consider letting the Irishman leave Parkhead.

Kenny shone during a loan spell with Shamrock Rovers in the first half of last season and bagged 20 goals.

He enjoyed a rich vein of form in the Conference League, which persuaded Rodgers to bring him back after January.

The 22-year-old broke into the first-team squad towards the end of the season and scored his first Hoops goal in a 5-1 win at Aberdeen.

But he is still behind Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah in the pecking order, with Celts also keen on a move for Kawasaki Frontale attacker Shin Yamada.

New Swedish signing Benjamin Nygren, who arrived last week in a £2million deal from Nordsjaelland, can also play up top.

I think he will go on to have a pretty decent career tbh, at this point in time though it's prolly best for himself if he moves on to get regular games again. Definitely got something about him, I just don't see his future with us.

I'm pretty sure he can sign a pre-contract with teams from Dec onwards so getting anything for him atm if he wants to go is a bonus. If or when Callum Osmand gets announced he will slot into that space in the squad I'd think and compete for minutes.
