This looks like a bit of a steal at that price. Just tough to see where BR sees him playing, will need to have some real quality to play wide with us and be that style.

He looks like he could play anywhere middle to front tho just a nice footballer.

Calling it now, best signing of the window for us.

 

When he played at IFK he was one of the 2 forwards, in a 4-4-2 system, he linked up many goals by winning a header or just keeping the ball in a tricky position. At the national team he has played as a winger, but I also think he played as a striker in the last minutes of a game. His national team career just started you could say though. He is maybe 5th of 6th choice in the national team at the moment in the attack, and got to play now when Isak, Gyökeres and Kulusevski weren’t available.

He is on his last months of the contract and will be released cheaper because of that. He is not super fast, but has decent pace. Technically gifted and strong. Gets past defenders in different ways, and good passing skills. Also scored some really nice goals with his left foot. Think he can develop at Celtic. As I said before, his attitude is great and will give it all in training. He also played with Carl Starfelt in IFK. And as an Göteborg (IFK) born and raised player, you tend to look at other players from IFK and how it worked out for them in Europe. Starfelt loved his time at Celtic, and that has surely been noted. The many swedish players in the past, Rodgers as the manager, the fan base and huge club overall, helps a lot I think. Also to get the chance to win titles. These are good arguments for him to choose Celtic.

Celtic are close to agreeing a fee with Nordsjaelland for Benji Nygren.
The Hoops, as we told you first, made an official approach last week for the Swedish playmaker who can operate as a 10, up top or in the wide areas.
The Danish giants granted Celtic permission to speak with Nygren and talks have been positive between both parties.
And now it is understood Celtic have moved forward with negotiations over a price for the 23-year-old who only has six months left on his current contract.
It is believed initial conversations have gone well between the clubs and landing on a fee is not expected to be an issue.
Celts could potentially pay close to £2million.
Celtic were waiting to haggle on numbers until they came to an agreement with the player and his representatives and now there has been a breakthrough.
No agreement has been finalised as yet but it is understood to be only a matter of time until Nygren joins Callum Osmand as a Hoops player with the summer transfer window officially opening this week.

 

Literally zero worries about this getting done..

 

So I'm assuming Nygren will fill the void left by O'Reilly. The triangle of Kuhn, Nygren & AJ on the right side sounds absolutely frightening.

Nygren can play anywhere across the frontline and operated as a second striker for Sweden in recent games.

The 23-year-old has bagged two goals in four caps and also rattled in 16 in the Danish Superliga last season.

But former IFK Gothenburg sporting director Mats Gren reckons Nygren is better operating as a No10 and believes that is where Rodgers would get the best out of him


He told SunSport: “When Benjamin plays on the right wing or as a No9, he can be effective

However, he is best as a No10. That is where all his qualities can be on show.

“Benjamin is an intelligent attacker. His left foot is fantastic and he can score goals and assist.

“His final ball is always very good and he can finish when he gets a chance. He has the lot!

“He is not slow but he’s maybe not super fast, and that’s the only thing you can say that he lacks.

However, he is quick enough to get away from opponents and has very good vision and passing.”

 

Would be good to see us move to a 4231.

Bit more creativity in the team and pace out wide.
