    He looks perfect for us.

Him and Orjasaeter please. Comfortably the two most impressive wingers we’re linked with.

Those two. Doig. A big * of a CDM. A quality CB. Osmand. I’d take that for now.

See a lot of the time transfermarkt don’t even get line ups right and a position is not fixed. Nygren this season has largely been a left footed right winger and got good numbers, he is also trusted to be an experienced player in a very youthful Nordsjaelland side so much so he has been captain.

When he is listed as having played centre forward it has very much been a false 9/10 type role he plays, dropping off the front line and linking play well and the two wingers in their system come in like ours to make up the front line. They basically attack in more a 3-4–1-2 shape, with a DM splitting the centre backs full backs pushed on to provide width and wingers invert. It’s pretty similar to how Rodgers has played in the past all be it not how we have the last couple of years.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a tweak in shape going into the new season but us still being listed as 4-3-3.

Nygren can also play as an 8 and burst on to the scene as one. I would see his height as a strength but he is very much an intelligent footballer and where he isn’t lightening quick like a Kuhn, he isn’t slow like a Palma.

Basically I wouldn’t pay too much attention to that positional data on Transfermarkt.

Ronaldo is a physical freak mate. He's obsessed with taking care of his body: Never drinks alcohol(!), eats healthy, works out daily on his own, etc. No wonder he remains highly effective at the age of 40 and is considered a GOAT candidate. Prime Ronaldo was uber explosive, but he's the exception, not the norm. Check out the Nygren videos. Seems like he's neither quick nor explosive. Looks like a crafty player who has a knack for goals. Has played plenty of games in central positions throughout his career. My first instinct would be to use him through the middle, but that's just me.

Some suitable comps in terms of positional size on the wing might be Kulusevski at 6'1'', Perisic at 6'1'' and Leroy Sane at 6' (just signed for Galatasaray on a free transfer btw). All terrific players, but again, probably the exceptions rather than the norm. Nygren is a bit taller at 6'2''. Curious to see how BR plans to use him in case we actually sign him.

They were after hehe! I had a look yesterday after the sun reported it but nothing. It started this morning naming a couple of journalists and also naming that danish media mention the rumours.

So still a little bit questionable links imo but we can hope because i really rate this guy which i rarely do when we are linked to dud players from Sweden.

My Uncle is FCN fan therefore i watch some games with him and he would make us stronger and have a high ceiling of development.

Looks very comfortable in the middle , wonder if Rodger’s could turn him into the rogic type player I don’t think we ever replaced , would benefit our front three

He looks a very composed, commanding, classy and confident playmaker at only 23. Scores some cracking goals too. Deceptive bursts of speed, and can play very well with his back to the goal and on the half turn.

A vital piece of the jigsaw that we are missing in the centre of the field, and at 6ft, would add more vital height and muscle to the team.

This one would have my blessing.

Celtic have made an official approach to Nordsjaelland for their midfielder Benjamin Nygren.

The 23-year-old has six months remaining on his contract and has interest from clubs in the top five leagues, but Celtic hope that by moving fast they will be able to persuade the Sweden international to move to Scotland.

Danish club Nordsjaelland are understood to be open to a sale at the right price.

Nygren had previous spells in Belgium and the Netherlands before joining Nordsjaelland in January 2022.

His main position is as an attacking midfielder, but he can also play on both wings and as a centre-forward.

After progressing through his nation’s youth ranks, he was given his senior Sweden debut in March by Jon Dahl Tomasson and scored in both of Sweden’s international friendlies in June – victories against Hungary (June 6) and Algeria (June 10).

Nygren scored a hat-trick for Nordsjaelland against Fenerbache in the Conference League last season.

Since moving to the Danish club in 2022, he has scored 35 goals and provided eight assists in 107 games. Last season, he scored 16 goals and provided four assists as his side finished fifth in the Danish Superliga

If I'm reading that graphic right, he doesn't dribble much, but when he does, it works out. I'd expect a winger to dribble a lot. But who knows where he might play for us.
