I think Millar is destined to become a defensive midfielder, like a Rodri, where pace/mobility aren't hugely needed. I think he generally plays all over for Motherwell because they try and use him as effectively as possible, depending on the opposition.

A bit like Tierney for Scotland. Plays as a CB because the rest of ours are * and we have Robertson for the left back position. I think the same goes for Miller, to be honest. Will go to a bigger club, who won't have that problem. He would be playing deep for us, i think. Certainly in the longer term.

It’s a big risk 10 million for a potential project.

Your comparison to Rodri is partly what I’m getting at here … he’s 6ft 3 and 83 kg and gets around the pitch really well. He has the ability and conditioning to dictate a game for 90 mins in that role while also being physically pretty strong. There’s definitely a lot of misconceptions about Rodri’s athletic ability … the guy can move.

Lennon Miller is 6ft, 70 something kg and doesn’t get around the pitch as well in my opinion. that’s not to say he won’t develop physically in that sense but it’s still something that will take time.

Again it’s just a game of opinions anyway, we won’t really know for sure either way until he takes a step up.

Hes out of contract in less than 12 months and can.sign a pre contract in less than 6 months. Motherwell arnt getting anywhere near £10m be lucky to get half of that

    They've zero chance of 10..

Scottish clubs should be demanding top dollar though. Long overdue but aye, no chance with that contract left..

I didn't realise he only had 12 months left. That changes things price wise you'd say.

Depends on the clubs that are interested. £9m/£10m can be pennies these days

Rumour is he's signing an extension this week to ensure M'well get top dollar for him much like Petrov done for us before his move to Villa. We'll see what happens I guess but desperately want him in the Hoops.

Celtic remain admirers of Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller, but contrary to some recent claims, there has been no fresh approach from the club this summer, CeltsAreHere can reveal.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise, culminating in a senior Scotland debut against Iceland

It’s true that Celtic held internal discussions about a possible move for the highly-rated midfielder during the January window. However, the club were met with resistance at that time and chose not to pursue it further.

While the Parkhead side continues to keep an eye on Miller’s development, they’ve not re-entered negotiations this summer. Despite interest from abroad and some noise from down south – with English clubs eyeing the player – there’s been no official contact from Celtic in this window.

Furthermore, it’s understood Motherwell have yet to set a formal asking price for Miller, who is entering the final year of his current deal. The Fir Park club’s position earlier this year was firm, but there’s a sense that the optimal window to secure a premium fee may have already passed.

As it stands, Celtic are not engaged in any active negotiations over the teenager. That doesn’t mean interest has disappeared, but suggestions that an offer is being prepared or a renewed bid is imminent are wide of the mark.

Honestly if he does that, pay the £10m then. He has the talent, is only 18, and an exceptional attitude off the park as well as from what’s impressed me on the pitch as well

They wont get £10M, not a chance. I’d say £6M plus a good sell on, which I’d be happy to pay plus send McArdle there on loan for a year.

Offering £10m is no big deal for an EPL team. If they really rate him, I don't think it's out of the question they make that offer.

Scottish Players doing well in Italy, even though McCtominay has the most buzz but it being consistent with Ferguson, Hickey etc as well. £10m not being a lot down there, prices in the Scottish market will go up. Been a long time coming that as well.

Miller being 18, £10m for potential is how they look at that. And Sunderland getting up, have just got £120m odd extra guaranteed. £10m is a lot for us, * all down there. *, Nat Phillips Liverpool rate at £8m odd, to highlight how * that market is.

    Agreed.

The money down there is insane, and has been for a long time now.

Its gotten to the point where muck lord English sides with zero European pedigree can compete with the likes of Juve, AC, Bayern, Christ even Barca and Real for players.

Its truly incredible to realise that clubs like ourselves, like Ajax, Feynoord, Porto, Benfica et al global icons in the game; cannot compete financially with a club from a * box town in England with a population of less than 30 thousand people and stadium that cant fill its 15 thousand seats on a rainy day.

The reality is that once TV fell under the subscription model we were *.

But no league stays on top forever. Certainly not one which is riddled with sugar daddy financiers and a dangerously inflated transfer paradigm. The EPL came within a baw hair of complete collapse when the Super Greed teams tried to backdoor uefa. The entire league is a bubble.

With regards to folk saying Lennons pricetag is too high, especially for one year, or that its should lower the price; both are incorrect imo.

Teams down south can throw 10m on a "project" the way we throw a quid into buskers guitar case. Its * all to them. So now is NOT the time for Lawell style negotiations.
Also, weve paid similar in the past for scottish players if you take inflation into account, Broony for example.

Now is NOT the * time try to act cute, or we're looking at McGinn 2.0. Pay what the * theyre asking (within reason) and get the kid in a taxi * sharpish.
