Wouldn't be against bringing him back in pure football terms, but to go public with details of a fall out and then state you'd be open to a return is the height of stupidity. You just don't do that ffs :giggle1:

Seems a bit of a drama queen to me.

Also thought he was incredibly overrated here too. First touch of a donkey at times. You can point to his goals, but I raise you Dessers in that argument. It doesn’t mean he was a great player.

I think he’s spot on about the 1k per week rise. That’s just the club trying to save as much money as they could. But why are you suddenly clamouring to come back to that very same club with the same board members in place that you were dealing with last time?

He did us a turn from time to time in a memorable period under Ange. Nothing more than that. Guy seems to think he did a lot more here than he actually did

Pretty damning Giakoumakis video that, puts Ange in a bad light.

GG claims Ange lied to him over helping him to get a transfer, and Ange wouldn't play him in the Cup Semi which we lost to the Huns, when GG said he was fit enough to play.

Was decent for us and I didn't mind him, but would prefer we look elsewhere and for better as we move forward. Think we can improve on him, kind of off-putting when players * and moan even if they do feel a little hard done by. I'm sure he's surviving.

That last bit, I’ve always said players saying they are or not should be ignored. It’s how Efe played Juve that. And how Tierney played a good 6 months injured.

He was harshly treated though. Ange had Kyogo as his main man regardless, it worked for him that though.

The transfer bit comes across as complete fabrication to be honest. Had no issue with Giakomakas leaving as it was obviously a splitting of the ways but to me he's just making an * of himself.

He didn’t do it on the pitch though, gave his all, worked hard and done well right up until he left. And we all thought he was harshly treated at one point

And nothing new either. WGS kept persisting with McManus & Caldwell in the back half of 2008/09, despite the increasingly obvious struggles that Mick had with his knee, that clearly hampered him and were gradually getting worse, becoming a knee and an ankle problem at one point. But McManus just kept on insisting he was ok and WGS just kept playing him. This lead to errors by both he and the Heid (who could be a bit of a bombscare at the best of times in his own right), which lead to conceding far too many goals, and undoubtedly contributed to how that season played out. And all because WGS didnt want to lose his captain and his captain kept insisting he was ok.

Even worse managers were publicly saying they new we were weak set pieces and crosses, just hammer it in the box. We were being bullied off guys like Cousin.

And had Balde in the reserves. He had to start one game, we had conceded every game the last 8, against Dundee Utd. Bobo started Levein said he seen the name on the line up and had to abandon what they planned.

Your right about Big Mick though. Warrior. Will play through the pain. Remember Broony end of Ronny? Played through injury. BR immediately said he’s resting at least 3 weeks. Then Broony was best he’d been. Players might be able to go out there, be willing, it’s upto the manager to judge if they should. Players with the mentality I want playing here will say yes.

I’m not righting off idah but again the board obsessing over wage limits an extra 5k a week potentially stops us investing 9million on idah
    Saved us 6m potentially

That would make some sense also look at it from a board point of view if he was gonna be sending choice couldn’t possibly give him more than kyogo

Don’t pay your second striker 20k

Perfect comparison. Dessers numbers look great at a glance, as did Giakoumakis’. And he 100% was a success for us there’s no denying that. But the glaring difference in quality between Kyogo then, Maeda now and Giakoumakis is huge.

I love idah but idah is our new GG. And after idah there will be another and so on…

Charlotte FC hold the discovery rights for Giakoumakis, which is an MLS mechanism that gives them the priority to negotiate for the player, per sources. Charlotte like the player, but there have been no discussions yet.

Charlotte have an open designated player slot to sign Giakoumakis, but don't have an obvious need at the moment. They rejected a $4 million bid from Luton Town in January for USMNT forward Patrick Agyemang and are expecting further to come this summer. If Agyemang departs, the club are likely to use their open DP spot on a center forward.

Rumors suggesting LAFC have been in contact or are about to make a bid are not true, sources add. Giakoumakis also has interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, sources say.

Giakoumakis excelled for Atlanta United for a season-and-a-half, scoring 24 goals in just under 3,000 minutes across all competitions, but was transferred to Cruz Azul for $10.5 million last summer after talks for a new contract stalled.

The 30-year-old has been productive in his minutes, with nine goals and eight assists in just under 2,000 minutes, but Cruz Azul has plenty of strong options in attack.

Giakoumakis and Cruz Azul just won the Concacaf Champions Cup, thrashing the Vancouver Whitecaps 5-0.
