Nilson Angulo could leave Anderlecht: several clubs have set their sights on him and the first to offer to buy him was Celtic Glasgow.

The first proposal was considered insufficient by the Belgians.

Nilson Angulo's future could lie far from Belgium. According to journalist César Luis Merlo for StudioFútbol, the Ecuadorian striker has sparked interest from several clubs in the European market, with Celtic Glasgow being the first to make a formal offer to buy him

However, the offer was deemed insufficient by Anderlecht, the club that owns his rights. Despite the initial rejection, it has not been ruled out that the Scottish club or another team could make another attempt at the young striker.

Angulo, 21, started for the Ecuadorian national team in the recent draw against Brazil, and his strong form hasn't gone unnoticed. He's currently training with the Ecuadorian national team ahead of their next match against Peru in the Qualifiers.

Since arriving in Europe in 2022, the former Liga de Quito player has gained experience in the Jupiler Pro League, and could now take a new step in his career if any of the offers on the table materialize.

He doesn't look great. I suspect hes probably been highly rated at one point but maybe hasn't fulfilled his potential

Ecuador, heard the guy from talksport who does the south american piece, that ecuador have a good team but they have nothing up front, they are still relying on Enner Valencia.

So hope this aint true .

10 goals in 28 games as a left winger.

Could be cheap cover for Jota till he's back. Would be OK with it if we spent more on another wide man, but not as the only one.

Tbh this is a naw from me.

Looks like he enjoys a dribble but his outputs suggest nae end product. We already have that issue in Yang. This guy just strikes me as Anderlechts version of him who they're looking to punt.

He looks like a Yang/Palma replacement.

On a LTB as back up to Marda it could work, but we'd still need another RW (Two if Kuhn leaves)

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Nilson Angulo, who made his debut against Brazil.

Nilson Angulo started against Brazil and thus made his debut with the Ecuadorian national team.

    Nilson Angulo
is synonymous with dribbling and speed. He's one of Ecuador's most promising players. The 21-year-old winger made his debut for Ecuador against Brazil and attracted the interest of a major English football club.

The Anderlecht player started against the five-time world champions and showed that he's capable of great things. His sharpness in one-on-one situations, his skill, and his dribbling skills caught the attention of everyone.

In an interview with Angulo for the Football Channel, journalist Gabriela Alcívar revealed that Liverpool scouts are reportedly following the Ecuadorian winger.

The attacker also spoke about the position he played against Brazil on Matchday 15 of the South American Qualifiers

“In training (with the national team), which was short, we rotated with Pervis (Estupiñán) and Alan Minda. We rotated a lot, and I think the coach (Sebastián Beccacece) liked that ,” Angulo said in an interview with El Canal del Fútbol.

“This was very important for being able to flow in the match (against Brazil). It's not a problem (if they play him on the left or right), because this is a national team; you have to play in the position the coach tells you to, because it's for the group. We have to do things right to leave the country at the top ,” he added.

Now, the tricolor is focused on the Ecuadorian national team, which will face Peru and seek to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Seems a weird player, really good at defending and running with the ball. Should probably be a full-back.

Probably, or he's a "project" with high potential but needs a couple of years to develop (he'd still only be 23)...

Long and short, he's either getting whored out by the agent or needs a sizable investment gambled on a development he's not shown too much of so far... Neither sounds like a good fit for us, if they're pulling the "it'll take more" line on the fee...

Monitored Kvistgaarden for two years til the point he was out of our price range.
A striker who can play wide.

Celtic response to missing out on a known talent, sign two unheard of nomarks on the cheap to cover wide and striker in the hope one turns out half decent.

Sounds like Celtic from 10 years ago
