So after a couple of beers and still having the rest of the afternoon free me and my mate went and played 9 at another course just down the road. 19pts this time :36:

That's 27 holes today and 21 over par off 16 and 5 handicap respectively. One of those good days folks!

Well funny you say that he can have a blow up quite easily and I'm hoping it's tomorrow plus I'm use to it now

Haven't posted in here for a while due to various personal * going on.

Been getting out a lot lately. Still pretty guff but I've started playing off the black (medal tees) at my local course to get ready for playing them for the first time. First comp I can get into is a Wednesday sweep on the 22nd then I'll be onto the Sunday medal. I need to register three competition rounds before being eligible to win.

I played today and shot 101 off the black tees so just shy of 7000 yards. Pretty happy with myself. That'd be nett 74 for me I think.

Aim is to be shooting mid 90s by end of the summer. I'm so close, it's just the blow up holes and occasional drops following a shank that's * me. But I'll get there. To be fair today my putting let me down. Three times I was on the green for par or worst case bogey and I 3 putted. Which is really unlike me tbh.

If you'd had said a year ago I'd be annoyed with not shooting 95 off the black tees I'd have laughed. So quite happy considering I've had no lessons and only really played at a proper club course for 12 months.

Completely * it on Sunday playing the club medal. The course record at my club is 6 under, and I was standing at -4 in the middle of the 12th fairway, with 3 very good chances of birdie coming in, only to go on and bogey 3 of the last 7 holes and shoot -1. Club championship qualifiers start this Sunday, and I’m heading in the right direction going into it if nothing else though.

Still great shooting after 11 holes though mate. Always puts me off if I'm too aware of a good score midway through a round.

My best rounds are when someone else writes the scorecard and I'm just plodding along unaware of my total.

Aye a lot of people are like that when they have a card in their hand. Get to the turn and if they are on a score, sometimes they can just blow up back 9.

I was back out again tonight. Not at my home course, went somewhere else for a change and knocked it round in a couple under. Had so many good opportunities tonight though. Feel like I’ve got a really low one on the horizon.
