Maeda instead of Maximin in Fenerbahçe

The Japanese player, who scored 33 goals for the Scottish team this season and is on Fenerbahçe's radar, is desperate. Celtic is demanding at least £25 million for Maeda. Tottenham is also on the move, but the Yellow-Navy Blues are very determined to complete this transfer.

Fenerbahçe is trying to fill the void left by Allan Saint-Maximin, whose purchase option was not exercised, with Scottish champion Celtic's star Daizen Maeda. The 27-year-old player has attracted all the attention with his 33 goals this season. He went down in history as Celtic's highest scorer since the 1977-78 season, and also won the Scottish Player of the Year award.

However, this transfer could be very expensive for Fenerbahçe. Because the Scottish club's managers started negotiations with the yellow-navy club at 25 million pounds. The fact that Tottenham is also interested in the Japanese left winger has made Fenerbahçe's job a little more difficult. However, the yellow-navy management will play all their cards to bring Daizen Maeda to Fenerbahçe.

Aye with Jota being injured, and how vital he is to us. I think we'll push at all costs to keep him..

That would effectively be our best striker gone as a 9
Our best left winger and the other best winger Jota out for half a season..

    We'd be risking a lot..

Tottenham's alleged interest is the only thing from that article which has me concerned, for obvious reasons.

I've never known a player like him.
How can you put a price on a player with the attitude he has. The work rate, the goals he scores. Is there any other player in world football that offers that?
If not, how much is Daizen worth?

Good post man. Genuinely can't think of a similar player myself.

Closest I can think of in terms of attitude and application is Larsson.

Larsson in is a league of his own, world class, nobody is leaving us for Barca these days.

In terms of application the only player that comes close is Brown at his best, Maeda is the 'engine' of our team the same way he was, just not in the position you would normally expect that kind of effort and workrate to come from, been saying that since he joined us and if he improves his passing and finishing just a bit, he would be a ridiculous player. Which he's shown this season, coming into his peak years. Really hope he doesn't get tempted to move, if he stays we have a legend in the making.

I was talking about application and contribution to the team as opposed to talent/skill.

Collins would be another one I'd compare to Maeda/Larsson in that regard. I love players who just go 100% all the time, and are selfless, I'd say all 3 were like that.

Larsson is the best player to ever play the game as far as I'm concerned. Can't believe you think he's only world class. Shame on you :40:

Knew that would be jumped on despite the careful wording. I get what you mean.

Henrik I loved regardless but I’ve got a clear memory of him that cemented just what his attitude was when he played with mostly a reserve team against Hearts returning from his leg break. That young team pummeled them, got cocky, stopped working and he ran from CF into the box, past Crainey at LB and won a tackle them breaking in the box.

And turned round and just looked at the youngsters who thought they didn’t need to because we were 4/5 ahead.

See that, that’s something very few I’d expect that from, Maeda is the one right next to Henrik for it.

It’s not comparing as players, desire and application, attitude. I get it. Because in that regard, Larsson had it in spades, but the way Maeda does it I’ve never seen any like for like comparison. Honestly in that specific way, the only one I compare it to is Kante.

But that’s always met with * off, so I say probably Olic then. But I * stand by the Kante one.

I’ll throw another two into this, Kieran Tierney and Stan Petrov.

Stan us 6-2 up against the Huns, on the deck, scrambling to prevent them getting a shy last seconds of the game, not managing to and being raging… that’s always been an example for desire and attitude I would show a clip to every player since just as a that, thats what we need off you
