Youssef El Kachati

Minor update from my last post, but he also scored in both legs of the play-off final, which saw his side, Telstar, earn promotion to the Eredivisie. That brings his total to 25 goal & 6 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions (25G/6A in the league, 5G in the play-offs and 1G in the Cup).

As long as we’re still doing our ‘big’ spending where it’s required, I don’t think there’s any harm (or any real downside) in a punt like this - particularly as a squad option. Honestly, even if we do sign him and it ultimately doesn’t work out, I think you could still probably make some money off of him with those stats.

 

Aye no way could or would he be first choice. Just a cheap punt for third choice option that looks as handy as we could get..

 

It’s hard to tell, watching that video he looks to have something about him, looks very mobile, not afraid to go at his man and scores a variety of goals.

There is actually a little bit of Igamane I see in the early parts of the video where he seems to almost dribble through players and not afraid to put his foot through it if he has a sight of goal. Although it does make him seem raw for a 25 year old. It really depends what our other options are that come in and who stays and goes. He seems to have played a bit as a right winger too.

His goalscoring really cracked up when they sold their other striker and he became more the main man up top.

He looks lightweight but a lot of wingers do. It's difficult to judge a player by a youtube highlights reel, as you'd want to see his defensive work too and whether or not he could fit into our style of play. Having said that I like the look of him.

I see, looked like he was out wide in those highlights a fair bit.

 

Bundesliga bound I reckon.

Youssef El Kachati does not choose a transfer abroad or the Middle East, but will probably stay in the Netherlands. The top scorer of Telstar has expressed his preference for a transfer to NEC.


The offers poured in for El Kachati and that is not surprising, considering the fact that he scored 25 times for Telstar last season and is a free agent. From Germany, Hannover 96 and Schalke 04 were concrete, from the Middle East Umm-Salal made a big offer. That club eventually dropped out



Although it is only final when the signature is in place, NEC seems to be winning the battle now. That club made him an offer weeks ago and recently came back with a new offer. El Kachati can sign with NEC for three years. He still has to undergo a medical examination.

 

We were clearly never truly interested then..
