We all know that KT will get injured so a backup at left back makes sense

 

Don't think he will hence the backup. We know he can't do everygame. We need him fit for the important games. So rest after champions league. Then off at 60 before big games. Then we can't burn his hips out to quick.

 

Anderson shoukd never have been sent back to Austria. He already done a year there ans then cane back and performed well in preseason. He shoukd of been sent to a premiership club or one at top of the championship, with the aim of having him as part of the squad this season. But kike we do with most youth prospects we've let him stagnate.
For a club who's entire business model is to develop players fot profit our approach to youth development is beyond a joke.

 

Think the spl clubs have very very little appetite to develop our players in the main. Then the amount we have seen go down the leagues in Scotland and not even get consistent game time. It's a worry.

Been saying this exact thing relentlessly..

Anderson should've and could've been ready to be the understudy to KT. We just don't know now because he was given a sideways at best loan back to the Austrian lower leagues, when he was showing up well for us last pre season and looked a level above what he got. When I watch the mince at left back for County in the playoffs and much more by the way....no one can tell me he isn't better than what some of these teams have. He absolutely is..

Why would Motherwell develop mcardle at 17/18 when they can develop their own 17/18 year old miller that is then to be sold for ££.

our own youth team has shown there’s not much difference between the other youth teams in Scotland. All each prem team needs is 2/3 youngsters to look worth giving performances to, that completely bypasses the need to loan players from us.

what we should be trying to do is buy back clauses.

say we sell them mccardle for 100k or less. With first refusal to buy for £1 mil (which if they end up * we just don’t buy) but if they look unreal after 1-2 seasons we’ve spent 900k on their development. And for teams like Ross county, £1 mil is unreal for them. I think more clubs would be open to this as opposed to a straight loan. It’s also no risk to us as we make money either way

 

Probably better to send him on loan to Ayr Utd Dunfermline or Partick
