Celtic's 2025/26 Summer transfer window: needed and wanted!

Given the number of replacements most people are citing are completely unrealistic in a single transfer window/season the other option for managing and avoiding this sort of situation would be having potential options from the development squad or scouted options that are affordable can make do for a season or 2 whilst other areas are addressed and strengthened.

Does need the football structure of the club to change though.

 

Have the following players done anything to really improve the team - Engles, McGowan, Yang, and Trusty, I would say no.
Khun had a great spell right up till Christmas then fell to * and it's obvious he's chucked it. KS looks as though he's carrying a bit of weight which isn't a good look for a keeper and Johnson's form has dipped as well. So, there's loads of work to be done and it will need to be done well before the CL qualifiers. Oh, and even though I'm fed up saying it, we desperately need big, tall physical players as our current team of midgets (apart from CCV and our captain) just aren't up for the battle. Finally, BR needs to change his tactics as they are continuing to fail against teams who set up to defend. Yep, still angry from yesterday but happy I'm not a hun who has won * all but is happy that a team they hate probably just as us won a trophy.

And Change the system to 4-2-3-1 and I will be happy with that

 

I'll be happy if we improve the standard of the squad by getting non contributors out, if not moved on then at least not making squads and also adding some quality.
It's concerning how much Brendan mentions coming out of transfer windows stronger than we went in and the need for pace and power and it ends up rarely being the case.

 

For me the signings need to be 80% done for the first day of preseason 4 weeks tomorrow. Highly unlikely but we can't be waiting until end of window!

CCV, Khun and Hatate all still have 3 years plus on deal but I expect them to move on. Daizen too if he can't agree a new deal which seems * insane but I get the feeling Khun has checked out and if Hatate knee injury bad then he might be here for first half season but am (as usual ans to nobody surprise going worst case) also we need to go back to a 4231

7 starters needed never long to happen as the board will want to hoard cash without guaranteed UCL money.

We're no gonna lose that many and need 7 first team starters man. Sake..

 

As long as scales isn't the starting LCB we have a new striker and a dirty rotten big hard * of a DM next season with 2 new wingers a think people would be happy with that

GK can wait until winter, but Sinisalo needs increasing minutes.

CB: ideally we sign a CB that can also play CDM, because I don't think there's many games per season where we need a true DM. Per my calculation, a maximum of 14 games (Rangers and Europe). I think talk of selling Trusty and Scales is a pipedream. In fact, both probably stay.

LB: priority to determine if Taylor will sign an extension afterall, or Schlupp maybe agrees to some 20K per week. If not, a new LB must be brought in quickly.

RB: need to try and keep Johnston, he's quality.

CM: injury to Hatate might deter interest, which is good.

LW and RW: reinforcements needed. I can see a loan to cover for Jota, but Kühn's attitude might get him...no offers and he stays here. If he does go, I hope we get Puado.

CF: We are not getting Kvistgaarden to be our 3. choice striker. It's him or Maeda, and Maeda's so important that I'd let him run his contract down. We could and should get an experienced target-man who can teach Idah some things, and wouldn't mind being 3. choice. Or, just keep Kenny to try developing him. It's the 3. choice striker spot, FFS.

All in all, I see around 5 signings in the summer. CB/CDM, LB, RW, LW, CM or CF.

 

Maeda should be on the left wing with a new striker going straight into the team. When Jota is back there can be more rotation.

 

In some games Maeda can absolutely be the LW, sure. But Idah is actually doing fine for us, and I don't think he is so bad that he merits being shoved down to 3. choice striker. If he bulks up during the summer, he'll be even better.

If we need another striker, it's either Kyogo on the cheap, or someone in his 30-s with bags of experience. An Aaron Mooy of strikers.

Idah is miles off it. We should be looking to punt him and get someone capable of trapping the ball, at the very least, to replace him.

We need to sign a first choice striker in the Edouard sort of mould. Bit of pace and power but still decent on the ball. Maeda left wing/back up striker. Two new wingers.

 

Idah was specifically a Rodgers transfer. He loves an English league signing. I very much doubt he'll get rid of Adam. Idah has pace for a guy his size. Could do with a bit more power.

 

We'll be fairly busy with in and outs I'd imagine but 7 starters just isn't realistic..

We need another first team centre half with
Carter-Vickers hopefully staying

KT will be the starting left back

We need another starting centre mid for me whether Hatate stays or goes

We need at least 1 starting winger

Depending what happens with Maeda, hopefully stays. Then we'll likely have a striker in but might no be a starting one if Maeda's the main man..

So can see KT and another 4 in, 5 at a push. Bit more depth needed also..

That's 4 key area's we'll be targeting and 3 of those right down the spine..

Hopefully what we recruit has a mix of speed, physicality or tenacity and ultimately quality..

£ 31 m on engels , idah ,trusty ,mc cowan and bernardo is a joke ,with only 1 of them being able to get into the first team ( and even then nowhere near as good as the guy he replaced) . recruitment needs to be far better this time around ,we should pay ange to recomend a crowd of players for us

 

Think the wild thing is we won the league by a mile but still we have very few players that id be gutted if they left.
