    @Drakhan

Was that the Spielberg 1980s drama, Color Purple, or the musical from last year? Have sat through both, just curious which one you were referring to.

Also, Enemy at the Gates was decent enough for what it was. If you're looking for another film about that same battle that really is superb, check out Stalingrad (1993/4?). It's in German (jsyk), but it is undoubtedly one of the best war films ever.

Took the wee man to see the Minecraft movie. Thought it would be brutal but it wasn't too bad. Did seem a bit rushed and there was some characters you would have expected to be in it from the game that weren't but he enjoyed it, apart from asking when it was starting for about 20 minutes after it had actually started. He is only 5 though tbf.

    Typical kid, when's it's starting 20 minutes later .:giggle2:

That the one with Jack Black ? Apparently, it broke the box-office record for largest opening weekend ever for a video-game movie adaptation, so thinking of taking my niece to see it too.

Aye. I was trying to keep him quiet when he was getting excited at some parts of it, then seen videos of groups of kids in other cinemas going mental cheering, shouting and throwing stuff about. Feel bad about telling him to keep his voice down now.

If she's ever liked the game I would definitely go and see it. Funny enough to amuse adults as well.

Watched Nosferatu a couple months back, see it getting mentioned in here.

One of the worst movies I’ve seen in the last couple years. Load of *. Visually great and decent acting, but as a story it’s so * boring.

I presume you've never read the original Bram Stoker's Dracula then, as essentially that is what it is.

It's mental. Had me 'Gaaa-hhaaaahhh'ing throughout just from the AD. Can only imagine how it appears on screen. Story isn't that much, but noone is going to check this movie out for the story. It's purely about the bonkers. :50:

Aye I know what it’s taken from, but I just think the pacing etc is off and there’s far too many scenes that are filler and nonsense.

and that’s exactly what Novocaine is. Just a fun watch. Not winning any awards and quite predictable but it really surprised me.

I've read Bram Stokers Dracula and I agree with MacEwan, Nosferatu was pure *. Even the advert for it was better than than the film, if that makes sense. It's a shame coz I had high hopes for it

Mufasa. Brilliant and just as good as original Lion King.

One of my favourites from last year. So glad I did not get spoiled by the trailer, such a fun ride. :50:

Watched Black Bag with Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett the other night, was alright.
Think I'm going to watch that Rule of Jenny Pen the night.

Hope Stephen King's recommendations are better than Martin Scorsese's. Watched I Saw the TV Glow after reading his comments, absolutely dire, aside from the soundtrack.

I was really disappointed as well.

Had such high hopes. I think the problem it suffered from is that the idea has been done so many times since the original source material that not only have we seen all the variations, but the variations of the theme have become more interesting.

But even then it seemed to replace all the eerieness and tension from the original Nosferatu film with pretty arty shots that did nothing for the story.

Best two horror movies I've seen recently are Late Night with the Devil and the Substance. The first is of the more traditional, exorcist type movies. The later is a bat * crazy blend of black mirror dystopia with mental evil dead type splatter. Both worth watching if you like horror

Difficult to make a better Dracula film than Bram Stoker's tbh. Saw the Last Voyage of the Demeter not long ago and it was OK but think Bram Stoker's put a line in the sand.
