    No reason why a goalkeeper cannot be captain any more then any other player. Not very often do you see a striker get the armband. Although I think VOH is our current vice captain. Personally for me while he has developed into a good solid defender I don't think McManus is a top quality defender and would not have him as Celtic captain. I would be happy to see Gary Caldwell or Barry Robson as Captain.

    Why?

    A captain should be inspiring, vocal, committed and have that wee edge that other players dont.

    Name me one of those boxes Boruc doesnt tick?

    Yeah hes a bit volatile but look at all the great captains: Keane, Aitken, Lennon etc.

    They all had that short-fuse and will to win that makes a captain.

    P.S Ellboy it's obvious that McManus was at fault for the second goal today, in the replay you can see where he has the perfect opportunity to make a tackle but hesitates giving enough time for the player to get the shot.

    Robson, because he plays with passion and his heart on his sleeve.
    Caldwell would also be not bad...

    I think Boruc wouldn't be a good captain as he has a fiery temper, I don't see him trying to calm another Celtic player in the 88th minute at Ibrox just after a shcoking tackle, he'd be the first one in there for a fight lol..
