It varies in price but seen some quotes from £600 to £3500 depending on the complexity.
Still cheap considering it will take houses out of the hands of the government.
Only problem is you no longer will own the house but the lawyer who sets it up will discuss the situation with you and sort it out.
Basically if you want to leave your estate including the property to your kids and you think you will be going into care home the trust keep the assets until you die and then sell the property and give the proceeds to your kids or whoever you want to but it must be set out in your will.
Creditors can’t go after it either.

It’s actually best to approach a property lawyer to sort it out.
One thing is if you have equity release on the property already it’s not allowed as lawyers won’t go near it

I was driving and in the distance a car was coming towards me and I’m thinking “what * shape is that?” and then it dawned on me

It was a Lancia Stratos in full Alitalia regalia!

I just about * my pants! The rally car of my childhood dreams before the Quattro came along!

I know where that car is kept amongst a collection to die for, however I smiled like a child seeing this thing of beauty roar past me.

    Joy of joys.

Amazing car, the closest I get to to owning one is in Forza Horizon! Had a Lancia Beta Coupe in the 90's

In Scotland it is a Protected Property Trust and nowadays to do it properly will set you back around £3500

I used to do loads of them for friends and family.

Basically if both spouses/civil partner are on the property title meaning they 100% jointly and severally liable for the asset, if one has to go into care the local authority can seek sale of asset to pay for care.

In layman’s terms a PPT takes the 100% and splits it down the middle to 50/50. Each person then leaves their 50% in trust for their beneficiaries (99% of the time - children). So technically you no longer own your asset as it is set up as a trust for your beneficiaries.

What it means though is if one of you has to go into care the local authority cannot force sale of half of an asset that is held in trust.

Thats the very simplified version of it, it’s 100% legit and will not be challenged by an authority as often as those where the title has been transferred in entirety and folks play the seven year waiting game. You will get the odd authority who will try to scare the other partner but when challenged they will never proceed due to costs of challenging when they are doomed to fail.

One of the few pleasures I got from my actual qualifications - never used any of the rest of them except explaining corporate law to thick Sevconians!!!

Paying for parking with someone else’s money.
Had went to a concert in York.
Had to pay for parking and cost at time was £7.
    * nearly hit us in car park before he went to pay.
He walked off but his money popped back out. I went over and used it to pay for my ticket.
He arrived back at car park a couple of minutes before us to find a parking ticket on his dashboard.
We just left laughing at him.

Those 30p a time toilets...that then are stinking and in a worse state than a free toilet. Mays well just * at the entrance and not pay. Would be cleaner.
