You're not going mad, I was positive that was the case as well.

That was 100% the original plan, as tabled in 2018 & 2019 - https://www.celticfc.com/news/16266 - although even then it was included as being a secondary stage of the development, so it could still be a thing, but who knows? Covid may've changed plans, but I remember Fran Alonso talking about it also, so it was still a thing when he was manager, and that was after Covid.

However, since the September 2023 announcement of the greenlight from the council to start work, there hasn't been any mention of a secondary phase development, additional grandstand work etc, the only things confirmed for this phase are...
    • New indoor arena, featuring full-sized IFA-approved artificial surface
    • Combination of outdoor natural grass and artificial pitches
    • State-of-the-art gym/fitness facilities
    • Celtic Academy and Celtic FC Women office areas
    • New changing facilities
    • Medical suites for player treatment/rehab
    • Sports science centre
    • Analysis centre
    • Classroom/learning facilities
Even when they moved to New Douglas Park, earlier this season after qualifying for the CL group stage, it was with the understanding that that arrangement was not long term or permanant.

Hopefully it is still with the intention of building this home stadia, but perhaps looking to complete this first stage before making additional proposals for the next phase? But with the SFA touting this proposal of a new joint stadia ground share, it's possible things have changed?

And btw, the Ghirls are in action tonight against Hibs, at the aforementioned New Douglas Park.

I can imagine the seperarte sections have different planning applications. I'm doing that with a project, the parts we know we get through with ease done in one, it's granted and we start. The more complex parts separated as it could take a lot of time. If we did it all in one we couldn't start until that was agreed and would delay the project by months.

I get what you're saying and it is totally possible, however if they are building stands etc, then there must be one of the pitches on the fringes that they have in mind, as it needs the space required for the construction, as well other facilities and access etc necessary for spectators, as I can't imagine that they'll be wanting to have non-authorized people just wandering through the entire complex to get there, is that is a thing.

Natalie Ross and Amy Gallacher back into the starting XI. Kit Loferski starts back to back games for the first time this season. That is not shade on any of those 3 players, as they have each been a big game players for years for Celtic, but just makes you wonder, here, halfway through April and still uncertain if Sadiku has any idea whatsoever of her best XI actually is. All the chopping and changing, yes, freshens up, but going into a game on the back of a run of 1 win in 7 overall (6LG 1SC, W1 D2 L4) and Hibs are joint top of the table for a reason.

With Hearts taking on Motherwell tonight, anything less than a win for the Ghirls and Celtic, who were joint top about a month ago in a 4-way tie, will be 5th in the title race.

City with the early 1-0 lead v Sevco. Hearts & Motherwell still goalless.(Both of those games started about 1/2hr ago)

Celtic v Hibs just kicked off a couple min ago.

Hibs doing most of the attacking. Celtic first real effort on goal just now, 20-odd min into the game.

So much possession, so little being done with it. That said, its become more of a MF arm wrestle atm.

Hibs winning th arm wrestle and the possession battle, applying more pressure and firing a few more shots, Celtic on the back foot here.

Daugherty with another save there, to keep it 0-0, getting toward HT.

    0-0 HT

If it were an arm wrestle at one point, it's definitely advantage Hibs in that aspect. Tactically its also advantage Hibs and really the only place where this is still level its the scoreboard, because balance of play, Hibs are edging it. They are really beginning to dominate possession as the half went on, Celtic were well on the back foot and holding on. 1 shot in the first half for Celtic - and it was high over the bar from a corner. Kelsey Daugherty has kept Celtic in it with a couple of decent saves to deny Hibs.

Elsewhere, Hearts 2-0 Motherwell & City 1-2 Sevco.

Sounds like more shenanigans at the end of the City v Sevco game, with City having a late equalizer chalked off.

Ke;sey Daugherty with another save to keep it 0-0.

Hibs deserve to win this, in all honesty.

More changes, but not really making much difference to the flow of the game.
