You initiated it to be fair. Whether it was aimed at him or not.

I know McGregor was fairly popular here up until fairly recently, but interested to see if anyone still likes him?

I was a big fan in the early, early days of his career - Cage Warriors and the early UFC run. I saw the writing in the wall even before the Mayweather fight, and felt as though a lot of people were making excuses for genuinely * behaviour, like chinning an old man minding his own business.

Is anyone still a fan, at this stage? I think the guys needed professional help for a while, but is a complete scumbag as well. Khabib completely ruined him mentally.

    * no.

I’m not even arsed about seeing him fight anymore either.

It was definitely around the Khabib fight I lost interest. The peak for me was the Aldo fight and I loved the Diaz fights. I knew he was a roaster during press conferences and that but it was entertaining.

Nah, I'm probably same as you. Cheered him on all the way through his early UFC career. I was happy when he beat Aldo. By the Khabib fight I was still interested but was happy Khabib beat him. Absolutely zero interest since then.

One of those 'mask that eats the face' stories. Played the * character for so long, got rewarded so much for it, and then he turned into one. Now I just find him utterly boring.

He's always been an * imo, true colours have just been shown because he has everything he wants now.

I can understand folk admiring the rags to riches story and how he was during his early UFC days but I could never take to him.

This is kinda my take - although I did like him in the early days. Laser focus.

I think money has just allowed the mask to slip, as opposed to changing him entirely. The drugs and booze are a different story, as the person he is right now is at an all time low - proper scummy.

People get cut a lot of slack when they’re successful, but I think chinning an old man in a pub who was just enjoying a quiet pint is terrible for any young man, let alone an elite fighter.

Apparently spat on some Khabib fan yesterday and was caught on camera. I swear Khabib has absolutely broken him mentally.

My bhoy, as I've mentioned has his first MMA cage fight early April and he visited tonight, he's looking awesome and tells me he's never been fitter, faster or healthier, he's been doing a lot of grappling/wrestling as that's something he's little experience of, the gym he's settled on after checking out a few is very professional, on the night he'll have his coach pointing out when/what to attack in his opponent and another guy who'll just watch his opponent for tells before action etc, as I said he's really going for this but I still hate the idea of watching him go into that cage and I can do * all to protect him AND it's £45 a ticket to suffer that. I'll let you know how he gets on, I wouldn't fight him and am so glad I didn't beat him as a wean.

Good luck to your son mate. Is he the same guy that ran the marathon for charity a few months back? Let us know how he gets on definitely. The type of skills and discipline you can gradually learn by fighting is unmatched I reckon. I bet he has a good head on his shoulders and has been taught strong values. Young lads are fitter than us too mate, my insecure, sheepish 15 year old self would probably batter me at this age, all because of stamina.

I think its good to teach kids about head movement and get them to train their reflexes.

It is Bad Ambassador, you've a good memory, he raised over a Thousand pounds for Bereavement by Suicide Charity.

Bhoy had his first MMA fight tonight and won all three rounds, I tried uploading the video from WhatsApp to here but it wouldn't work, any suggestions and I'll post his first fight and victory, which means he'll be fighting more, but to be honest he would have even if he'd lost, he's a passion for this and he was very good.

Great news Jake, bet he's feeling really buzzing. I can imagine the nerves must have been intense before his debut fight so it must be a great relief afterwards especially after doing so well. I used to shadowbox in the mirror and always thought I was pretty quick. I got KO'd once by a lad named Carly Warley fruit & barley (used his strength and grappled me in the park and bounced my head off a fence repeatedly), but I wasn't having it and demanded a rematch in my area near the school. Midnight around 20 of them showed up to the arena, floodlights were always on.
I trained that day and I promised myself that I would not lose. Put it this way, a super straight right hand was all it took to topple the 6 foot giant. My mate bought me a lilt at the chippy afterwards and was really proud.
