Think the Ibrox performance has absolutely killed him he had a slight drop off prior but his form has gone off a cliff since then

In the interest of upgrading the squad, if we were to sell Scales, Welsh, Nawrocki and Larger, we should pull in around 10M, get 4 off the wage bill, and just reinvest in a quality center half.
After his last 2 * shows, I would prefer to see Murray come on if we need to replace CCV or Trusty right now.

Once league is wrapped id like to see Murray be given a few starts. He could be decent option as 4th choice for next season, providing we upgrade the 3rd choice one

Those 3 will definitely be for the off if we can ship them and assuming we sign a good CB then maybe Scales will look for a new opportunity.

Liam Scales will likely miss the Scottish Cup tie between Celtic and Hibernian.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed the defender will sit out of the cup contest at Celtic Park due to a facial injury.

Scales, 26, suffered a cheekbone injury against St Mirren last weekend but played on in the 5-2 win in Paisley.

However, it's expected he won't be involved this weekend in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.

"Liam Scales will probably miss out," said Rodgers of the centre-back.

"Cheekbone from the St Mirren game where he showed great courage to continue with that.

"He has had an X-ray on that so we have to be mindful with him."

Liam Scales, he's obviously had an issue with his cheekbones, so we're just waiting to finalise whether he needs an operation or not.

So he will be doubtful for the game, but apart from that, it's the same squad.

Scales is training individually but because of his operation, he can't play until leading into the Kilmarnock game. Apart from that, the squad is in a good place.

For me Scales isn't showing the confidence he displayed last season, the few mistakes he's made seem to have effected his play, he appears to panic slightly and react rashly at times. I'm not saying he's bomb-scare level just needs to be more aware. Getting back to the form he is capable of and that he shown previously for some reason seems to be deserting him, doesn't seem as assertive or comfortable lately. Shame because I really like him, lets all hope that he gets back and recaptures his reliability for both himself and us.

I think with Scales its basically because he had formed a reliable partnership with Cameron Carter Vickers, and then we signed Trusty, and he eventually took his place, which undoubtedly would have affected his confidence.

Like you, I hope he gets his confidence and mojo back soon, because I feel he still has a big part to play in the team and squad, and the quest for more silverware.

Was the same last year when he was a regular. Couple of bad passes, poor performances and it seems to really effect his confidence.

His performance in the Scottish cup semi final last year was horrific and came slap bang in the middle of a really poor run of form where his confidence seemed shot to bits.

Mite coke from the self doubt that he's not really good enough to play for us

Scalesy played very well today. Defended stoutly when needed and moved the ball forward sweetly.
CCV looks more like his old reliable self with Scalesy beside him.

Done well bar a couple of wayward passes. I just feel a lot more secure with him in there than I do with either Trusty or Nawrocki.

    Same.

Get to some degree why some prefer Trusty, but for me Scales is the better option to have, particularly when teams compress.

100% mate. Doesn't mean Scales is immune from putting in a stinker, but overall think he's great to have around. Would love better but even then I'd still want him kept and getting game time.

I say it a lot I’m not huge on Scales but I prefer him over Trusty generally.

Thought he was quite poor. Few waywords passes and got caught under the ball as well when it looked pretty straight forward to deal with. Also CCV bailed him out when their striker was going to rinse him for pace.

Hope we sign a few centre backs in the summer because we just aren't that convincing at all in there no matter who plays.

I think hes ok to have as a squad option for games like today. No more than that though. We obviously signed Trusty as intended to be an upgrade on him. That Trusty hasnt really convincingly done so means we probably need to go to the market again in the Summer.

Played well yesterday, 2 retarded passes out for throw ins aside. He is better on the ball than Trusty. He will take the ball into space whereas Trusty cant get rid of it quick enough.
He did look burned for pace a few times yesterday.
Horses for courses, little or no defending to do yesterday.
