We have to expect inconsistency at that age. Hopefully Brendan can get him and Bernardo up another level, should he be here next season.

Unfortunately we very seldom score from his set pieces so, appart from his ability to take a good set piece, * else does he offer. Bit of a * bag too. Bring back big MOR

Been a passenger recently, even his set pieces are * now. Another who needs dropping.
That chance he had first few minuets, had whole goal to aim at and passes it to the keeper.

Hopefully m8. I'm probably still angry at that lacklustre performance from him as there's been a few he's had now however, as I said yesterday, he wasn't the only one yesterday who was poor

He was our best player for a number of weeks consistently not that long ago. Folk need to calm down. Some saying he has been * since the start. Again, another load of nonsense.

Our midfield needs at least one strong, aggressive player in it. The problem just now is that we have 3 guys in it that are weak as * so we just get played through constantly. We need to replace Hatate with a dirty player and let McGregor and Engels have a bit more creative freedom.

St Johnstone midfield was ripping the * out of us at times yesterday. How embarrassing was that.

I agree that we need more physicality in the midfield. Also agree that Engels has been fine albeit inconsistent.

Overall he's had a solid debut season so far.

Agreed mate. Could've handled the result yesterday had we tried and showed heart and desire. But to turn up and play the way we did, where you could visibly tell half the team was in holiday mode was a disgrace.

He has a few years of development in him, for that reason alone I’m gonna try be patient with his inconsistency.

His form has come in waves this season.

Started brightly, then had a pretty significant dip for a while, then he was immense for a couple of months and now has dropped off again.

It's clear he is a talent and he has done more than enough to earn more time.

I think he's suffering from the overall imbalance in the team, especially in midfield.

Short memories, he was excellent from December up until the last month, where the entire teams form had dropped.

He's a good young player who clearly lacks consistency, he'll 100% make it here.

We've literally seen how players get better with us after a full pre season. Yes I would like to see him stamp his authority a bit more on games but I think folk need to calm down with wanting rid of him.

I expect we'll see a much better player in him next season. He's shown flashes of talent this season, so there's a player in there for sure, but I think after the experience of this season and getting used to the pressures of playing at a club like ours, which he won't have encountered before, I think he'll be much improved for next season.

It would be nice if he started showing it for the rest of this season right enough...

Far too many take one poor result and just decide to go mental with the rage.
Other times, some folk create a story in their head and stick by it, regardless (Hatate for one).

Arne came out and admitted himself back in (approx) December that he has found the level and amount of game time intense and a level above what he has been used to before coming here.

We all cheered when we heard we was signing a youth talent with 50+games in the bundesliga, not overly realising that wasn't 50 games in the season before he signed, but 50 over the course of the last couple years.
By December time, he admitted himself that he had played more games/minutes at that stage, than he had in any other season. By now, I imagine he has played more games/minutes for Celtic than in his entire professional career combined.

For a young lad, that is a massive amount of game time. Add in to the fact he has came here from Germany, first season bedding in etc etc and the usual caveat of players at that age blowing hot and cold, and it can surely be forgiven that this season he has had his ups and downs.

For those who are in love.....
A pod or post can't remember exactly where, summed it up for me and my feelings of late..

Away games where it's tight pitches and the games high tempo, he really struggles in tight areas. The amount of time he takes trying to turn or get his touch right, usually results in getting caught out or being closed down so quickly that the passing angles gone..

He isn't slow but hes a bit cumbersome on the turn at times. Thing is, Leipzig at home he was excellent in the tight spaces but on a bigger pitch with more options..

We need someone with the ability to turn/swivel out of trouble/a press and go beyond. No just someone who can occasionally go beyond off the ball..

We need more of a drive in that middle from players who can eliminate someone and open up the space. Hatate does it now and again but takes too many touches and looks a yard slower than when he first came. McGregor has it in fits and starts but is getting on. Bernardo is one paced. McCowan also and weak..

This could've probably been stuck in the midfield thread but does need addressing..

Probably helped that our pitch when we played Leipzig was immaculate. Unlike the ploughed fields we see too often.

    Oh absolutely.

100% actually. Same can be said on other players in bad form just now.

But it still should allow fans to understand why Arne himself isn't always a 8 outta 10 or better every game.
