    Not the answer going forward.

When you consider the money that we’ve spent on him, Nawrocki, Lagerbielke and Scales (to a lesser extent) we could’ve bought a player as good as CCV or better and still had a couple of quid left over, ffs.

He’s not played the last 2 and a half games and people are writing him off again after 1 game? Mental man. Most fickle fanbase on the planet.

He’s shown he’s far from * and todays game isn’t the one to put the knife in, considering we were * as a unit.

CCV has had a uncharacteristic massive dip, Trusty has had spells as our best defender at times, the midfield again gives zero protection to the back 4 which has been an ongoing issue. There are so many moving parts. Trusty isn’t “*” and he isn’t the root of the current problem.

Well, do you think he’s been good value overall? It’s debatable certainly. Is he a long-term answer? Doubt it.

We could have spent all that money and got an even bigger dud, or someone who brakes his leg on his debut. It’s just not worth thinking about what ifs.

We can upgrade, for sure. But whether he’s the long term answer we won’t know. He’s shown enough for me, him and CCV at their best is our best pair by quite a long way. A couple of decent Nawrocki performances doesn’t change that.

Not just yesterday but since he has come in, just looks bang average. Even yesterday, every pass he made was basic, several times he had grass in front of him and he never drives into the space, treats the ball like a hot spud. Really average at set pieces too.
At the end of the day, with the way we play, hes not the answer.

After the BVB game he went on a run at the center of defence playing very well. Played a big role in some of the European results.

    He's not '*'.

We could improve though. But the way CCV has been playing of late we should be worried about him too.

Ya, it’s definitely CCV’s worst run of form -possibly his only bad run - since he’s signed.

I don’t know if I think he is any better than Scales. I think he is quicker and better on the ball, but I think Scales is a better defender.

Don't get the negativity. Think he's great. Could do with more confidence bringing it out but hopefully a pre season doing exactly that will help.

I actually think Trusty is one of the major reasons our defence is falling apart. Since we broke up the CCV/Scales partnership, and put Trusty in, CCV and Johnston's form has fallen off a cliff, and even big Schlupp is looking rocky now. Brendan made a mistake bringing Trusty back imo, after his no show in the Cup Final, and dropping Scales again. We have missed Scales's passing out from the back and his aerial threat at set pieces and corners, and CCV looked a much better player when Scales was beside him

True, but don't forget Scales had an absolute stinker in the new years derby game, so let's not pretend he has been some mistreated angel in all of this. Nawrocki didn't deserve dropped after the Hearts game, to bring Trusty back in last weekend, so will be interesting to see the state of the defence this coming weekend.

Your point about the form of others in the side does totally hold water though.

CCV, for example, hasn't been at his assured best, Schlupp seems to be preferred to Taylor on the left, but as things stand neither are certain of being here next season, while on the right AJ, while not been at his best hasn't been absolute dreadful either, and in fairness, while has made the odd mistake does seem to be committed and has looked to make things happen going forward. But that said, he has been preferred irrespective of errors or form, and with little consideration given to the possibility of Ralston having a run of a couple of games, if nothing else to fire a shot across the AJ bows, to get him to pull his socks, metaphorically speaking.
