He's a * unit in the air but he did look a bit dodgy trying to clear the ball at times. Hopefully that's a lack of minutes issue though.

That's two games where he's looked fairly safe. I wonder what the deal is that he's not had much playtime prior. Scales has looked much dodgier in games.

He always looked solid, its not like he was having disasters and then papped out of the side.

I said it after his first two features, before he disappeared, easy to say again; he looks like he could be a real asset if given time.

Plus he looks like Anakin Skywalker, which is always a plus fo the ladies.

Couple of them were ok have a left side and he looked a bit awkward trying to clear with his right foot.
Probably better on his natural side.

Would happily have him as the back up to CCV rather than having Trusty play on his weaker side

Decent defender, slow and ponderous otherwise. He has no pace whatsoever, which is maybe why Rodgers wants him gone.

Why was he ever bought then if he was too slow? Watching 30mins of film on him would have shown that up.

He's nowhere near as bad as being completely left out the squad though.

Wonder if he's getting some games to put him in the old 'shop window'. Looks a decent player to me, but think Brendan has made it clear that he doesn't have a future here.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has explained why Maik Nawrocki started for his side on Saturday.

The central defender was surprisingly thrust in against Rangers a fortnight ago and kept his place in the team for Heart of Midlothian's visit to Parkhead over the weekend.

Similarly to his derby display, Nawrocki was adequate in his performance against Neil Critchley's men as Celtic came away comfortable 3-0 victors.

Pre-match, Rodgers explained why the Pole kept his place in the starting lineup, with the fitness of Liam Scales and Auston Trusty a key factor.

He said [BBC Sportsound]: "I do always prefer where I can a left-footed centre-half on that side, in all honesty because that allows you to get through the pitch quicker and have more speed playing forward.

"But Scalesy can’t play, and Auston [Trusty] isn’t quite ready yet. I’ve got no problems playing Maik.

"I think people forget that you can only play 11 players.

"For a lot of our season, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty, and Liam Scales have been outstanding. So, it’s been very, very hard for Maik.

"What you’ve got to give him huge credit for is every single day in training his mentality to work, his endeavour, the responsibility he’s taken to work and be the best he can be.

"So, if the opportunity comes and he has to come into a game like the Rangers game and perform like he did, that’s a real testament to his professionalism and his mentality. He’s done really well, he’s had a couple of weeks, and then we will see."

I have no idea why he was bought, it’s the same with the other bhoy that’s out on loan.

You can see he's definitely right sided at times..

Good at defending but we'll probably punt in the summer and those cameos will help.

Expect Trusty to come back in on Sun.

Solid in the air but a couple of dodgy moments yesterday which could have been punished.

Thought he was excellent first half, but a couple of dodgy moments second half. He’s certainly not a dud though.

CCV and Trusty partnership is proven in the Champions League, therefore Trusty should come back into the team imo. Good to see Nawrocki proving himself to be a reliable backup though.

'Adequate' is not a brilliant verdict from the all knowledgeable fitba press.

But he's done no bad considering.

This is all shop window * for him cause he'll be off to whoever as soon as the window opens again

    No good enough for me..

Hopefully get some money back and punt in the summer..

Performed well against the Huns but he's slow, very slow on the turn and fairly weak for a centre half..

Probably good enough to be 4th choice as it's not really a position in squad that gets a lot of game time but he's clearly behind Scales in the managers eyes and for me Scales should be no higher than 4th choice so moving on Nawrocki and ideally bringing in a new CB to challenge Trusty to be CCVs partner is best case scenario.

Although Rodgers spoke at the weekend of preferring a left footed CB so I guess there is a possibility we sell Scales, bring in a new left footed CB and go with Trusty as 3rd choice, Nawrocki as 4th
