Apparently he sparkled Souness in the dressing room on Scotland duty. Souness was tearing strips off Paul McStay apparently, and Feed the Bear just stepped in and walloped the * in front of everyone. A hard man. But a fair man. And a good player to go along with it.

Honourable mention to Peter Grant. Tried to be Roy aitken I think. Peter was tough on the park. But had a soft heart.

My da says Davie Hay was also * solid. But I never seen him play

 

Roy Aitken and big Bobo are both good shouts, especially for those got to witness.

Although toughest of all time, Jimmy Quinn has to be right up there. In a brutal era, he was as tough as they come. He was a target for every thug defender in the game, took everything that was thrown at him, and gave it right back just as good (or bad, as the case may be), when running battles were absolutely the norm and not the exception. Total white line fever compared to how he was off the park, by all accounts.

My Grandad used to say Willie Wallace was the toughest Celtic player he ever saw.

Not the tallest, but barrel chested and would stand up to players twice his size and never back down, he always said to me.

Broony was definitely part of the last dying breed of tough in other way players. Shorts and t shirts on in Russia, players regularly trying to do him, that sheep away video where more than one do...and a ball rattled off bonce for good measure....gets up and celebrates it

Da and uncle always said Bertie Auld was one hard *. Anyone roughed us up, or went late, he would literally break legs and had that devilment in him, but was utter class as well..

 

There's an old rumour (which I'm fairly certain is true), that Artur was in attendance at a young female's flat one night down near the merchant city, when he got a call from a polish friend of his who was living nearby - told Artur him and another polish dude were getting snash from a couple of local * in a nearby park.

The story goes big Artur got himself dressed, ran along to said park and proceeded to kick * out of about 5 or 6 cheeky *.
