I mainly use a desktop PC and just googled myself to the Duck homepage where the option to install their extension was sitting waiting for me! I tried the same for my Fire tablet but there's no equivalent - had to install the DDG browser. If you're using a phone with Firefox (I've no experience of that) it's maybe the same as the Fire tablet i.e. ya gotta install the browser. Worth it, though: DDG on my tablet is much faster than Firefox and, of course, zero ads when you're typing yyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssssssssss!

    Nnnnnnaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww!
That IS odd. Just checked my Fire tablet to see if anything has changed overnight but no, still ad-free on talkceltic. Mebbe someone else with a non-Amazon tablet has a solution. HH.

Is it still the same Holiday ad that's causing it? I've asked for an update as they said that ad had been removed.

I’ll get on them again and ask why it hasn’t been removed. When they say it has then it usually is the case.

I'm now starting to get a blank white screen with a banner saying "you are using an ad blocker"

I'm not using an ad blocker.

@Celtic Mad you need to sort this * before this forum goes down the pan.

It's been years now though so I'm not sure you actually want to fix it.

    Ads mean money.

I constantly get the message telling me I have an adblock on despite the fact I can see about 73 ads in the background

That's incredibly cynical of you. Ads change all the time, as campaigns finish and new ones begin. That unfortunately means that intrusive ads can appear when a new ad campaign has been pushed to our site. I can only deal with these once they're brought to my attention by way of this thread and screenshots help massively. I am then able to pass these on and have them removed.

This site would have gone down the pan a long time ago without them, so sadly they're here to stay. The best I can do is remove the annoying ones (like the full screen ads and ads that appear over content).

I could look into a pay monthly ad-free GM+ membership, if there was an interest for that sort of thing?

Can you please take a screenshot of this? If you're seeing ads then you shouldn't be getting that message. What browser are you using?

Weird, you shouldn’t be seeing that if the ads are showing. Do you have a VPN active or installed? Sometimes they automatically block ads.

Could you do me a favour and try on a different browser, preferably a fresh install of one with no addons? Firefox or Edge, as I’m assuming you’re using Chrome?

This will help tell us if it’s a browser issue or not.

I’m getting it aswell and I think it could be the adblocker being too aggressive and flagging anti trackers as adblockers. Just a possibility to look into
