We had McGregor, CCV, Trusty and Schmeichel in the previous OF and we could have lost 5 or 6 nil to a makeshift Rangers side.

Aye, but he made basic errors that someone of his ability doesn't usually make. We looked to him as one of the experienced leaders and he looked really shaky.

Needs dropped. Still carrying far too much weight, and his kamikaze passes are becoming a feature of his game.
Looked like he had been out on the lash the night before, how bad he was.
Sinisalo in now for the rest of the season, and maybe we need a new No.1 goalkeeper now.

Its like he is scared to go long. Playing out is fine if people are showing for the ball but if getting pressed, just go long.

Ferguson has sussed out Schemichel won't come out his six yard box. Ridiculous for a so called top class goalkeeper, Hart was just as guilty tbh.
Schemeichel was as much to blame as Schlupp for their first goal, it was his ball all day long if he had came out.

I wonder if Rodgers told him and CCV probably even Schlupp to avoid giving the ball to Nawrocki.

It was blatant how they kind of refused to give him the ball, Schlupp even running over to take throw ins turned seen Nawrocki standing back in space waiting and went "nope" turned back around to nobody then stood for 20 seconds wondering who to throw it to.

Same with CCV and Johnston, they ended up with so much of the ball as CCV was rarely passing it to Nawrocki either.

Meant the ball was on the right far more than usual.

Then there was like extra onus on CCV and Johnston to play the ball forward as Nawrocki and Schlupp never really done it.

It was a tactical disgrace I thought the whole first half and it only changed cause the huns sat back with 1 up front and parked the bus in the 2nd half.

It's not really a tactical disgrace, though. Nawrocki has barely played for 2 seasons and was being asked with literally a day's notice to play on his wrong side in our toughest domestic fixture. Not protecting him in the way you describe would be to throw him under the bus.

But equally when they already tactically have got the better of us and make it very difficult for us to play out from the back, having our keeper and defenders going out thinking, "I need to try and avoid giving him the ball" would only add more pressure and give less options.

They all seem to have considered it their least bad option, mate.

Had a bad game but he’s won us games this season.

Deserves a bit more slack than “needs immediately dropped”.

He’s been good on the ball, but yesterday highlighted a big part of that, is Callum McGregor is usually there to be available for a pass.

A lot of modern keepers just stick to their line. I'm not saying it's right or wrong but Kasper is far from being the only one. Personally I'd rather we'd had men on the posts. It's basic football sense and the 1st goal would have been cleared off the line if we'd had them there.

Absolutely, he's been good overall. Seems a good guy too which might not matter to everyone but when I saw the way a lot of those sevco players behaved yesterday it makes me glad to see a sane, magnanimous and dignified individual like Kasper representing us.

Theres only 2 goalkeepers I recall seeing any time in recent years who come off their line for balls into the box and it's Raya from Arsenal and Donnarumma.

I feel like when you watch Arsenal or PSG their keepers tend to come out for nearly everything every corner and set piece and stuff. But nobody else does.

It's probably one of those things theres no right or wrong way to go about it, like they might come out and deal with most stuff but they probably also make the most mistakes cause they do it all the time you only need a bad punch or to get bumped and it slip out your hands for a goal that probably wouldn't have happened.

But for the amount you come out and clear, technically hardly anyone ever scores from a corner only 1 out of 90 or 100 or something so by coming out for 250 corners a season and dealing with it you might only have prevented about 1 goal.

Yeah when it comes to stay on the line or come off the line there's pros and cons to both. The worst option is to dither. I used to play in goal and the first bit of advice my old da gave me was 'either come for the ball or stay on your line but never get caught in between the two'.

Maybe slightly true but not really buying it. Schmichael sprays the ball to half the team. I would say that some of yesterday's performance is attributed to too much use of him as the easy option and that he's been over relied on too often.

There were also utterly bizarre howlers yesterday I think he has to mostly own himself. The one caveat being the coaching staff should have identified it and sorted it before yesterday as there have been warning signals.
