Sums up how I see this. I’d rather be in our position than theirs.

In an ideal world we’d be putting our foot on their necks and giving them nothing. That’s the type of aggression I’d want next season but ultimately if you can’t have it all your way then give me the treble and UCL progression over a dead rubber win.

I can handle losing to the Huns.. especially when we're so far ahead but I can't lose to then listening to Boyd...he's just an embarrassment

Unless I am losing one I can't recall a Derby recently where we properly blew them away.

As I said there it'll be game on again next year and we need to be prepared. They'll have momentum with this takeover

What they do in Europe is none of our concern, unless we're up against them.

What we CAN do, is judge our performances against them domestically - which have been pitiful the last two matches.

St Mirren have beat them more in the league than we have this season.

They've also scored double the goals against them than we have in the last 2 games against them

Just not acceptable in any way you look at it.

Aye I'm not disagreeing with that

What I'm saying is this narrative that they're a laughing stock etc and we are years ahead is bollocks for me.

Considering the financial gap as it stands I wouldn't say the squads are lightyears apart.

3 matches really, the cup final was a slog. They've set up the same way in all 3. A failed Alloa manager saw the last 2 and knew all he had to do was copy.

Alloa - forgot who else the * was in charge of.

There ye go, a failed Clyde and Alloa manager has got the better over Brendan.

    Kudos to the *.

In terms of results wise - we ARE light years ahead of them, especially if we win the treble.

Individual performances though - they've shown that all it takes is a bit of fight and aggression, and we crumble.

It was the proverbial game of two halves at Celtic Park on Sunday, with the Hoops conceding two first-half goals to their city rivals before drawing level in the second-half.

And while it looked as though Brendan Rodgers’ side were the more likely to go on and score a third goal, the visitors capitalised on a defensive slip to score late on and ultimately take all three points with a 3-2 victory.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game, the Celtic manager said: “It was a disappointing result. It’s never nice to lose these games.

“In the first-half we went behind early, and that gave them a good feeling in the game.

“We had opportunities in the first-half but I don’t think we played well enough or had great control of the game. There were too many misplaced passes and just not aggressive enough in our game. In saying that, Jack Butland made some really good saves.

“We made a change at half-time, came out and got the early goal and then you could feel the energy in the stadium, and we were in a really good place.

“It was a fantastic goal, and then at 2-1 we have the impetus in the game, and when we got to 2-2, I felt there was only one team that was going to win the game.

“We had opportunities and Butland made some good saves again, but then sadly for us, Ali slips which is unfortunate, we missed the first header and all of a sudden the guy puts the ball in the top corner.

“So I felt that probably a draw – they were better in the first half and we were better in the second-half – but if you don’t defend well enough, that can happen

Celtic remain 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership table with eight matches remaining, while there is also a Scottish Cup semi-final to look forward to.

And while the focus is on securing the two remaining trophies up for grabs to make it a domestic treble, Brendan Rodgers knows his side will have to play better in their remaining fixtures.

“Firstly, the message to the supporters is, we apologies because we always want to win games here and against our big rivals, so, for them, it’s not a great feeling,” he said.

'Our message to the players is, we have to be much better. That’s what we spoke about afterwards.'

“In every facet of the game we have to be much better and if you’re going to be a champion this year, you’ve got to go and show that you’re a champion and you’ve got to earn it.”

“So there are eight games to go, with 13 points, but we’ve got a lot of big games to play.”

How can blame Rodger’s for players having no fight for game today. He sent out best team available and they shat pants again.
Huns just getting bounce they get after getting new manager.
It could work out well in long run.
They give that dirt bag manager job. He flop next season big style and another easy title

Well, it does have everything to do with the conversation. My point is that we have a mentality issue with performing in these games when it doesn’t affect the outcome of any trophies. If today was a crucial game in the title race we wouldn’t have lost it and Rodgers has proven that in the past. The exact same thing happened with Ange.

I could be slightly off here but the last 5 times rangers have beaten us, 4 of them were total dead rubbers and the other was an extra time win in the Scottish cup semi final.

We do it when it really matters. So no, I’m not gonna wet myself over the loss today no matter how much it hurts in the moment because we are the dominant force in Scotland and will continue to be so.

I think the problem is there are no excuses or hiding places now. We have used up the complacency, fluke, bad day etc. I dont even think they were legit to begin with. McGregor is another wishy washy excuse. Hes been there when we toiled.

You cant hide from these games repeatedly. Iresspective of how many trophies we have in the bag or how far ahead we are they are still massive games in the context of a league that offers a lot of dross.

We cant blame lack of players, squad depth, tiredness etc etc. Rangers have worse players who played extra time on thursday.

Its frustrating because the answer is we dont have the players, in defence especially, to play the game rodgers has them trying to play in this fixture. They arent good enough on the ball and make mistakes galore when pressed. We are playing the wrong game in the wrong areas and rangers are just forcing mistakes and capitalising.

We need to be aware of rangers starting fast and looking to press mistakes. When they tire, then you can start playing from the back more.

Results wise domestically in terms of trophies aye but what I'm seeing from these derbies of late is that a manager who can come in and cut out losses at home to St mirren or Motherwell and its suddenly a lot tighter. As the Derby games this season we wouldn't be ahead.

Ifs and buts. But it's something to be watched in the summer and into next year as things can turn quickly.

I'm not going into any game against them now confident of a win.

We are weak as * and any half decent side can set up easily against us.

Without sounding like a dig, I'm gonna assume that you are of the younger generation who has known nothing but sheer domestic dominance from us then.

I HATE losing to them *, could be a "dead rubber" as you suggest, but it matters to me.

    Here the whole time
It's not so much the fact that we've lost 2 on the bounce to them, and arguably could/should have lost the cup final. Whats more disconcerting is that when you really look at it, we have only had 1 good game against them in the last 8.

The ibrox game we won last season was a smash and grab, which is a decent enough result and one you would take at any time, but the performance was garbage. The 2 wins at CP we were hanging on by the skin of our teeth. The cup final was just a turgid affair all round.

Certainly wouldn't advocate sacking him, that's a bit crazy but I don't think the contract should be renewed beyond the 3 years. In all honesty he'll probably bolt before that comes around. I would also be loathe to give him too much more money to waste in the summer.
