Played again this morning. Second game back really after last weekend. Much better today. 15 greens out of 18 in regulation. 2 birdies but didn’t get up and down in any of the 3 greens missed and shot 1 over. Greens still weren’t great due to time of year but gave myself loads of good chances. Played a different parkland today as they don’t use mats and with it being so close to the season starting, I’m trying to avoid using mats now.

Not too bad a round for me today kept it in play mostly and putting wasn't so bad, course is still wet and the 20mins of heavy rain didn't help, I ended up soaking but good to be out, 81 gross

I'm in bits. A broken man. Think I died at one point. Anyway, a pic to sum it up... the only respectable photo in my camera roll. Golf was great. I'm away back to bed again. HH

Dougalston Golf Club - East Dunbartonshire, Scottland

Done the 18 on this on Sunday there. First few tees were stunning, then after that the greens were probably the worst I've played on yet for putting conditions.

Absolute howler by the end, reulted in 3 wood being flung into a small ravine on leaving.

Played 2 9-rounders after that when I got back home at the local course, launched my putter into some rough somewhere and snapped another wood.

Had a beer when I went home :56::56::56::56:

That can be a bog in places, did you get lost trying to find the next tee can be a bit of a maze finding where to go next, dougalston is in our group this year and some of the boys are dreading playing there I actually quite enjoyed it,
    * * mate 3 clubs down that's an expensive couple of rounds hope that beer helped

Aye mate, actually got lost a couple of times. Thank * for a decent group of older guys who were shouting us in the right direction, and ended up letting us play through on one particular hole that they were stood debating which club to use as "it's a * for loosing balls on" - just as well I played a beautiful shot right on to the green :56::56::56:

There's an absolute couple of * holes btw - can't remember which one exactly but it's maybe 13 or 14th, an uphill *.

Aye, I certainly did not have my best day Sunday indeed :56::56::56:

I was walking in circles for about 20mins trying to find where I was going, ended up doing that more that once needs better sign posts, aye it's a tricky course especially in these conditions,
I played balmore on Sunday played great 77 for a net 63 and 4 up on 14th and kept all my clubs,
    Go me

Yeah, probably won't be back at that one until at least the summer!

Think we're gonna do Buchanan Castle over in Drymen saturday morning.

Nice, I played that end of last year very flat course I didn't play all that well tho, I think most parkland are the same this time of year wet and muddy, mate get your self down to troon, lochgreen, darley and Fullerton brilliant for this time of year bit of a drive tho but no mats and full greens always in great condition

Me and 3 others won a charity Texas Scramble last year at Falkirk Tryst, and the prize was a 4 ball at Buchanan Castle. We’ve still no got round to playing it though. Let me know how it is mate.

Long before Turnberry became Trumps place now, a friend had a booking for a foursome on the Ailsa Course and invited me as a one of the 4 Marty. Was an amazing day out (golf apart as I was terrible and just so overawed) .

Somehow scrapped my way to a 14 over par today despite not hitting a single good iron shot. Pleased with my improved scoring but alarmed at my loss of technique with my irons.

Short game and off the tee I've improved a lot but had to sacrifice iron play to get there. This game is spinning plates.

What a morning for it today. Played at my home course Leven and it was t-shirt weather. Hardly any wind which is unusual. Finished 2 under with a double at the par 3 15th after I’ve burst my 7 iron about 200 into the * at the back of the green. Holed a couple of bombs but also missed a fair amount from inside 10ft. Mats come off Monday thankfully. I’ve been trying to stay away from Leven for that reason but couldn’t pass it up today with the weather.
