Sign him , and give him minutes . He doesn't need loaning out he's already the best player in the league outside Glasgow and an SPFL club captain. Rotating him with Mcgregor next season would be ideal. One that will move for very very big money after his next move , hopefully it's us selling.

    He's not Motherwell Captain .

I think he has his heart set on a move away from Scotland to develop..

    A bold and arguable claim.
I would argue David Watson of Kilmarnock is a better prospect than Millar and quicker off his mark too.
Think you are getting ahead of yourself a wee bit here. :giggle1:

Motherwell are playing a dangerous game. He can sign a pre-contract with someone else in less than 1 year. Do they really think they're going to get top dollar for him when he gets into the last year of his contract?

I like Watson and would happily buy him and loan him back out.

However, Miller is getting linked with big money moves and Watson isn't (yet) for a reason.

I think it's hard to argue that Miller isn't the best player/prospect in our league outside of Celtic.

He'd walk into every team except ours.

It's not how football works anymore.

The length of time left on a contract doesn't have that much of an impact on purchase price anymore.

They'll easily get £4m plus in the summer for him. It's chump change for teams in more financially flush leagues.

The lad is 18, plays for a mediocre team. This season played 19 scored 2 and 6 assits. In total 63 5gls and 9 assits. From this 63 games he played 1/3 as a CDM. So that will have affected his stats…

Its a no brainer at 4/5mil! We have taken bigger risks on players outwith SPL…

Personally, I think £4-5M is a bit much, unless in installments with conditions, but I guess with modern costs it's maybe not.

Gotta agree with the rest of it though, in that he's got loads of potential and loads of time to get to his prime. If it took 4 to get him I'd wince and pay it, locking him in for about 5 years to get best chances of recouping it. 3 I'd do without hesitation, 5 would need terms and conditions. Just because we have money doesn't mean we should * it all over the place on any and all potential returns

Think he looks like he can become a bit of a player, I'd take the chance for definite. Cal is getting older and I see Reo move possibly this year, there'll be plenty of space for him.

See the assists that he has had, if it is from corners or free kicks then I'm still seeing a Turnbul mk II. I know Turnbull statistically was good for us but I thought he was brutally slow and very limited. Never been impressed with this boy when playing against us.

My worry is after watching us v Bayern and Aston Villa, I think we need a real physical midfielder, does he have that in him?

That physicality is what we need to make the next step in Europe, if he doesn’t have it, or have the stature/stamina/strength to become a physical player, then we are wasting our time. We need to be stronger, bigger, faster to compete at the next level.

We need it but you don’t need it in every player. Miller has every attribute to be a top midfielder in the game.

Agree but we do need it in any midfielders we sign. We have no real physicality in there at the moment. Hatate is probably the most physical one we have and he's likely going to go in the summer imo.

Miller is top quality player and is one I want us to go for and I guess he must have decent physical attributes to be playing 1st team football regularly since turning 16 and given his age he no doubt will still have some more development to come in a physical sense.

See what Schlupp brought last night, if Miller doesn’t have the potential to physically match players then it’s not going to progress us. We play with small tricky forwards, got to be physical in all the other positions, not lining up like a team of midgets.

He played pretty well against the huns on Saturday. I haven't been massively for or against it, but if BR thinks he can improve us I'd obviously be happy for us to bring him in

Celtic are continuing to keep close tabs on Motherwell star Lennon Miller ahead of a potential summer bid.

The Scottish champions made contact with the Steelmen at the end of the last transfer window but were told he wasn’t for sale. The Lanarkshire outfit had just seen manager Stuart Kettlewell re-sign and didn’t want to make it a double whammy by selling one of their prize playing assets

It was also too late in the window to bring in a replacement while Miller was still out injured at that point. Celtic’s interest, however, is still very much active and their scouting team are doing regular reports for Brendan Rodgers. The Hoops rate Miller highly and are aware that a number of top clubs across Europe, including Germans Eintracht Frankfurt are keeping close tabs on him.

Motherwell have already turned down multiple bids from Italian side Udinese and Union St-Gilloise in the last window. They have made it clear they are in no rush to sell their highly-rated Scotland under-21 cap.

Miller is out-of-contract at the end of next season and they are likely to consider offers this summer to maximise their money for their academy graduate. Motherwell would be looking for a record transfer fee, which would be far in excess of the £3.25 million they received from Celtic for David Turnbull in 2020.

If this guy is managed right I think he can be a serious player but he needs minutes.

He’s a must for me but from him and his agent they’ll be worried about stunting his development i’d think.

Don’t think we’re the right fit for him or for us. Can’t see it, who knows.
