Aye, it's just a part of me.. a small part:56:

But, my fear is our board become complacent and it effects how we perform in Europe.. ideally they push us on but we continue to win everything.. :56:

Don't know what age you are mate but I'm an old * that's been going to the games since mid 70s. I can honestly say my best seasons were early 80s when Aberdeen and Dundee Utd were superb teams and challenged us for everything. We won some, we lost some but every game seemed to be important and a must win. Great times as I remember.

I'm not saying I've not enjoyed the succes we've had in recent times and I love the demise of the huns but competition keeps it exciting. So I get exactly where you're coming from.

For those who are in love.....
Our depth isn't that strong really..

We don't have a capable right winger if Kuhn gets injured (although Yangs been a bit better off the bench)
We're light in the middle for a starter and only have 2 backups for 3 positions
Left back we should be sorted in the summer
Up top we're still a bit light and Maeda's form has been more a fluke considering Rodgers claimed he wasn't a striker (in a way)
We're light at centre half also

We've got a strong 11 as youve said, when everyone's fit....and a couple of very good options from the bench, but no a strong 5 subs to call on..

    Momentum early on
    Squad cycle turnovers
    Failure in the market

Just some of the things that can level it up quite quickly in a 2 horse race, so we can never rest on our laurels..

Im expecting a very good window in the summer with the finances available and only the 1 qualifier which we'll be desperate to navigate..

    Late 70s for me..

But always remember going up to Aberdeen and it was pure joy if we came back with anything.. my Da always used to ask me at ko if I'd take a draw, at KO and I'd say, no I wanted to win.. inevitably at HT he'd ask me again and usually we were losing.. I remember once being 4 down, Frank McDougal scored 4 ..

Don't get me wrong I never thought we'd see the day we overtook their domestic hall and it's glorious.. but it has made us a bit spoiled.. a treble was unheard of.. when we secured our last treble v ICT and we knew Ange was likely off, it was flat as *..

Me and mates had too gee each other up to celebrate, mon now we've won a * treble here.. :56:

Would love the other teams to challenge better too.

It was good times mate. Ah mind going up to dundee utd with a chance to win the league and getting pumped 3 nil. Sure we went on to win the league right enough.

With Aberdeen, dundee utd and even the huns back then, that was 12 big games a season, it was excellent when you look back.

Different times but it would be great if other teams actually improved to provide a challenge of some sort.

I was at most games home and away in the early to mid 80’s and l don’t remember the amount of titles being an issue. That’s a thing that was brought up by the filth through social media with their fabled “55”

Then the huns went on and ruined it all but their illegal financial doping.
Yet another reason to hate the huns. *

Fully agree. Its only taken Bernardo getting injured to even show that slightly!

It'll be difficult to have that level of quality but we need to strive for it.

Yeah we have numbers but not guys Rodgers clearly rates.

I do think our starting 11 is stronger in a number of areas including right back, centre back, both wings for sure.

However, we have a massive drop off in most of those positions if we lost our first choice player. Guys like Ralston, Scales and Yang, I wouldn’t want to have to rely on them for any period of time.

I am glad we have got Tierney coming in and hopefully Schlupp or another capable player as a back up.

Midfield is a big thing for me I think we need a box to box type centre midfielder who is more on the defensive side of the game but brings a bit of physicality and pace. If Hatate goes we definitely need a creative goal scoring threat. I have mentioned Benjamin Nygren previously and think he would be a good pick up on a cheap deal given his expiring contract in December. Alvyn Sanches we were linked with before is flying this year too.

Lastly a centre forward has to be a priority,
I would take Kvistgaarden but reallly like Rafiu Durosimni at Viktoria Plzen if he can prove he is over his injury he would cost less than Kvistgaarden and is your typical BR centre forward.

I agree. I think for celtic to achieve anything close to our potential while playing in Scotland we need a strong Rangers. I'm not even sure if that's a controversial opinion given the board has repeatedly shown that our spending is pegged to how rangers are doing.

I agree with that as well. This time last season Rangers were favourite to win the league. Things can change very quickly. The nature of modern football means any successful celtic side will almost constantly have to replace our best players and best managers. There's clearly a gap but it isn't big enough to assume it will always be there.

I think we have been incredibly lucky with injuries this year, not had a starter out for any real length of time. We were an Idah injury off Kenny starting against Bayern two weeks ago.

With the volume of games we play we have been very lucky, thats why i argue things are never as good as they seem for us and things are never as bad as they seem for the huns.

Takeover for them - 4 good players out for us and 4 good signings for them and what’s the difference on the park?

Jota's celebration was cool as a one-off when he first did it but I'm over it now.

    Totally agree.

Especially when he does it after scoring tap ins.

Maeda is the best player on the team the now.
In all seriousness. Last 2 seasons I haven't rated our midfield as a unit. We got good individual players and they can produce fantastic moments but we struggle to be really cohesive. Midfield battles we lose so easily and it's been frustrating.

Despite Daizen Maeda going through a purple patch, he remains a technically poor player that we should be looking to improve upon.

Daizen should go back to playing on the wing, and Kuhn and Jota rotated more.
You need one skillful winger who is flashy and cuts inside and one workhorse who gets on the end of chances and stretches the play. (Giggs Ronaldo, Messi Pedro etc)
The team doesn't have enough variation in play with Jota & Kuhn both cutting inside.

Then another striker should be signed, and a replacement for Kuhn if he goes.

Reading the threads slaughtering our players and manager.
Have some Celtic fans become arrogant, entitled and perhaps even bored and so now looking for any fault they can find?
