Sutton is wrong. He's not "edging Kühn" for POTY. Unless he scores a hattrick of own goals in the derby and then turns up in a video at a Hun pub the same evening accepting a brown envelope and singing the sash, he is POTY by an absolute mile.

Must be made the highest paid player at the club, 5 year contract, he's going to be our No.1 striker next season, he's shown he can step up in the Champions League, he scores against the huns, scores against the rest, his work rate is unrivaled in comparison to every player that's ever played for the club, he's at the very top on his own in that field, it's a no brainer and has to be priority No.1 for the board heading towards the Summer

 

Watching that goal back, that was * beautiful the way he finished that chance, so much more composed now.

 

He needs a new bumper deal..

The real dilemma is us buying a striker in the summer, which I'm sure we will (and i still want)...and im sure we'll spend big on one..

Offering him a new deal and the promise of being the main man...may be the only way we keep him....with the interest that is undoubtedly gonna come our way this summer..

 

Where does that leave Idah?

 

I'm no sure but would you be happy going a full season with just Maeda and Idah as our 2 strikers for 60 games or whatever we'll play?

 

Is it any different to Kyogo and Idah which was the way it was going into this season ?If I had my way it would be Maeda and a new striker with Idah gone or third choice tbh, but I doubt that's going to happen .

 

Many of us still wanted another striker in anyway or a versatile type like Kvistgaarden, with Kyogo and Idah..

I still want another in, as I like Idah on form.....but im no sure i trust him if for a sustained period if Maeda was to get injured..

I want someone else in. If that means Idah drops down to 3rd choice.....so be it..

 

Yeah I would agree with that. Hopefully Maeda really makes that central role his own in the next dozen or so games left as I can see BR wanting him out wide again next season with new striker and Idah up top.

 

Hopefully we flex our muscles and bring in Orjasaeter to go with Jota, someone to go with Kuhn (another 6 months at least/year out of him) and see how Yang goes, maybe loan him out but if he keeps smashing it then we may change our mind. Then a Kvistgaarden as part of 3 options up top, infact maybe we'd leave signing a right sided winger if he came in, as he could operate across the whole front 3..

 

Another huge plus point of Maeda through the middle is it really allows us to invest in another quality winger as you say , which we seem to be very good at. Kvistgaarden you would hope is one we would revisit as he can play up top and out wide. It will all depend on outgoings obviously , and unfortunately I can foresee a few, which is a real shame as we are on the verge of being a really top side.

 

I think we were happy with that because we knew Maeda could fill in if needed.

 

This is why a striker, who can also play right wing, such as Kvistgaarden, would be perfect
